last year i was inspired by a article i found online about how some guy turned his ti 83 or 84 into a remote control for his tv with a hommade circuit board with an ir transmitter and plugged it into the usb port. i thought 'woulnt it be a great idea to make a texting program that would use ir (or possibly even just regular antennas) to talk between calculators, and use it as my science fair project.' well, long story short i got lazy and made a self installing program instead (which my school seems to think is hacking its network, but lets not get into that). so anyway, ive seen some ir programs for the calculators to control tvs and such, but i was wondering if it would be possible to have a program that sends and recieves files containing text. my friends have been bugging me about this (silent study with an unbearable teacher can make people beg) and ive told them ill look into it. which loosely translates to ill ask the internet. which is what im doing. so any help would be very much appreciated.

All that I've seen in the past concerning IR and calcs is here and here. To get into this stuff, you'll first need to have good, good knowledge of http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/208/20890.html.
