TrickyG Probe Posted: 11 Sep 2008 17:54 GMT Total Posts: 6 | I downloaded Doom89 and sent all the files onto my calculator. They are all archived and in the "doom" folder. I also downloaded the hw3 patch since I am a Tit. user. When I try to run Doom by typing doom/doom() it says Error: Program not found. What am I doing wrong? |

If you have an 83 or 84: Get MirageOS Send it to your calculator Run it, and use 2nd to open the MAIN folder and 2nd to select the game you want to play (DOOM). |
BrandonW Goliath Posted: 11 Sep 2008 19:13 GMT Total Posts: 100 | He clearly said in his post he's a "Tit. user", meaning 89 Titanium, and he downloaded the HW3 patch, which is 68k specific. You do start BASIC and assembly programs the same way, with the program name followed by ().
I've been out of touch too long to be any real help, though, sorry.

TrickyG Probe Posted: 11 Sep 2008 20:12 GMT Total Posts: 6 | Could it possibly be that I do not have all the "doomgfx1-9" files. My archive does not have any more room to have them all... even after the garbage collection archive error. I have doomfgx1 and doomfgx2. How will I be able to fit any more on the calculator? Also, Do all files need to be archived or unarchived for it to run? |

TrickyG Probe Posted: 11 Sep 2008 20:56 GMT Total Posts: 6 | Should the hw3patch file be archived right along with the other files in the "doom" folder?
Well all that can be unarchived and/or removed under Var-Link includes:
MAIN folder- calculus:28924 math1:2643 math2:1719 math3:2400 science1-3: 4000 each tiinfo:1987 polydata:142
Pre-Apps? There are tons of apps I don't now or don't use, but I don't want to risk getting rid of something I might need tommorow if you know what I mean aha.
Even if I got rid of all the Var-Link it wouldn't be enough to make room for 7 more 64k files... |

TrickyG Probe Posted: 11 Sep 2008 21:59 GMT Total Posts: 6 | I redownloaded the newer version and had enough room to get everything except doomgfx5, doomgfx6, and fatlib. This time I typer doom() and it took about 4 seconds saying "Busy" got me thinking it was going to work. When it ended up just saying "done" along with "Error: no matching engine found". HELP! lol |

TrickyG Probe Posted: 12 Sep 2008 14:30 GMT Total Posts: 6 | ** Hooray for "haveacalc" ** I did a clear memory which got rid of tons of apps. I didn't need allowing for enough space to get all the files onto the calculator. I simply typed "doom()" and everything ran just fine! Problem Solved.
Doom89 is hard to play, just need some getting used to! |
