I personally found the quantum particle physics to be very realistic. I can't believe how well it was coded. Do any of you think that the physics support the game play.

Also they didn't code any quantum particle physics or it would take years to advance a single frame.

I know that they didn't code any of it but they did code the physics of said character if they were to fall through said portal. The engine is very good at chaos physics, and havoc physics so it appears as though it is. The quantum physics is in there. So ha. Because all quantum physics is the physics of possibilities. I wish I had the orange box but I'm really poor right now. Wish I had some money.

In short: There are no quantum physics calculations happening in the game. There are simulators that are pretty good, but not perfect by any standard. |

The game seems to flow pretty well for it's physics engine. All though I would have to say that from the video since I know that everyone can atleast watch the video, when ever you make a portal in the bottom of a pit, and then you aim at the area above you, when he comes out he should be going at, *hopes that calculations are correct*, 1.34 times his current speed and should land about .3 feet further back. Also Lunchbox a simulation still has quantum physics in it.

Quantum mechanics is a fundamental branch of physics with wide applications in both experimental and theoretical physics. The effects of quantum mechanics are typically not observable on macroscopic scales, but become evident at the atomic and subatomic level." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_mechanics). No, it freaking doesn't. |

Posted: 15 Oct 2007 08:45 GMT Total Posts: 612 | Ok That's quantum mechanics not Quantum Physics with respect to reality. SWHAT NOW LUNCHBOX. I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE EXACT QUANTUM STATE OF THE MATTER IN RESPECT TO THE CURRENT REALITY. The subspace folds in on itself thus allowing for a bridge in the space-time continuum. Thus we can say the weapon allows for holes to me made in the fabric of the universe.
THE LUNCHBOX THERUM STATES:
If Lunchbox attempts to disagree with the string theory, then he is wrong.
Thus it is possible to view the effects in a hypothetical expression.
If Lunchbox says that it is unobservable, then he does not have that much math behind it.
Thus we can say that Lunchbox does not know of the string theorem and the infinite parallel universe theorem. A rip in the fabric must open somewhere else so that both are linked. Thus we can state that the game is a very realistic hypothetical representation of the string theory and wormholes. The 'Portal' that the gun makes is actually a wormhole, thus allowing for one to move through the universe. Also one can go anywhere as long as the opening is made. Also the stability of the wormhole is questionable.
One more thing you could never be caught in an infinite loop like the game shows. You'd be slowly going one way or another and eventually you'd leave it.

Also, there are very few people on this board that don't speak lowercase. UPPERCASE IS NOT NECCESSARY. If you need to emphasize a point, do so with words or underlining and/or bold. |

Good plan! That's exactly what I would do if I wanted to thwart the growth of my reputation.

Don't believe about what I said about quantum physics go read a book on black holes, wormholes or on string theroy. Or you could even read one on The ten dimensions.

Posted: 16 Oct 2007 16:40 GMT Total Posts: 2007 | There is no such thing as "quantum physics." The closest thing is quantum mechanics, thus I posted the definition of quantum mechanics. As for the other random, unnecessary physics terms (conjoined by fallacious arguments, I might add), I have no clue why anything after the also-superfluous all-caps sentence is in there.
And btw, if you're too lazy to type <em></em> or <strong></strong> around a group of words, you don't deserve the privilege of screaming. EM and STRONG are the preferred alternatives, respectively, to I and B tags btw. For reasons why, see http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/text.html#h-9.2.1 |

Locking since this has degraded into a pissing fight. I would agree with Lunchbox on this one though. Quantum mechanics is a subset of physics. Quantum physics is a misnomer. |
