stephendonnelly88 Dragoon Posted: 13 Jan 2006 12:36 GMT Total Posts: 97 | dude, you should not have to think about it in the first place...
...here's a little hint: IT'S A "BIZZARE INTERNET SIGHTING". Did you read the banner-ad I had attached? It is entitled "Chimpanzees do not want to be altruists".
Can you think of a more non-sensical, more absurd advertisment than this? I mean, the phrase "Chimpanzees do not want to be altruists" makes no sense at all.
I mean, dude, if you can't see the humor in this immediately, you are either looking to deeply, or you do not understand what the word "altruist" means (and are too lazy to look it up).:)

So go figure, if someone paid for the ad they most likely did some homework or studies to see if its worth the time and funds. So like Jc said, sometimes something so crazy, bizarre and unusual just might get that click and it the whole purpose.

stephendonnelly88 Dragoon Posted: 14 Jan 2006 06:48 GMT Total Posts: 97 | Well, I suppose you are right in the sense that the sheer idiocy of the banner's content would entice people to click on it, but I mean, what's the probability that it actually leads to a serious or worthwhile product or service?
It's like try to get attention on yourself by acting out in a negative way. It works, but doing it at the expense of your own reputation. |

One of them was given two ropes. If he pulled on the first rope, he would get food. If he pulled on the second rope, both chimps would get food. He pulled both ropes about an equal number of times even when the other chimp was begging for food. The study shows that chimps don't care to help others even when it means no extra work. What a stupid idea to put it on a banner add, though.
