Total Posts: 542 | Itzik Ben Bassat, executive of Blizzard hinted the return of Starcraft 2 to be released sometime in the future. To prove that there is a real chance for this, there 2:46 min video full of realtime gameplay from the prototype of the game here i really hope this doesnt flop like starcraft:ghost did. The difference in this game than the Ghost was a try at a first person consol shooter, while this game will be the old-fashion thing they are good at: RTS on the desktop. You can also think of it this way... they already came out with the expansion for their best seller... what else can they do.

Total Posts: 1892 | The video is a fake, but I highly doubt that Blizzard won't revisit Starcraft sometime in the near future. At least, I'm hoping that they will release a new version of Starcraft. :) |

Total Posts: 542 | if its fake, they did the best job in the world making all the buildings look perfect for what they look like originally. They should therefore be given an automatic job in blizzard for being so good.

Total Posts: 542 | from seeing my friends play WC3 online, you can use the starcraft units in custom made maps, which is really cool. But thats about as far as it gets sad to say. Hopefully there will be more news of this later on.
But it is confirmed, that the Blizzard Ex. did hint toward this game.

Total Posts: 2486 | Yeah, it looks like a mod (not too bad btw). I honestly doubt they'll make a good sequel anyway since the original game was so close to perfect balance than anything else. Redoing the game with just modern gfx might be nice but probably won't be enough to justify the dev time and all that. I just hope they don't try to create a sequel just for the hell of it, since a failure may just ruin the image of the game. This would be very Eidos or EA like if they start doing this.

if it was starcraft 2
there would be hella lot more graphix upgrade than that. a major gameplay facelift etc.
i would not expect a repeat from such a company as blizzard.
mebe if ubisoft or something made it but not blizzard.

Total Posts: 542 | i would have to say WoW is on the slim side of graphics. Its good, but not as good as the RAM it needs. But all in all, Z brings up a good point. I dont just want SC2 just to have a new one. I want them to take their time and make it perfect, make it what the original wasnt or couldnt do. And being that the original was perfect, then SC2 will have to be god-like.

Right now, I'm making:
-A Starcraft version of Tin: The Incompetent Ninja (tin.snafu-comics.com)
-A Starcraft music video of The Ultimate Showdown (you should know what that is)
-And I'm trying to do a Zerg one in which you try to get to a Protoss base in the center of the map.
