Never really liked fishing lately. Haven't caught anything since I was ten or so, and I just lost interest.

He stole the code for bobblebubble, said it was his own, then lied and said the author said it was ok. That was one incident.

And of course, he owns 14 different trucks, each in 12 different paint jobs. :-)

The second was he went off on various forums, the most notible, was debate thread 3? 4? It was one of those....

After the last infraction, he was banned.

There was also a minor incident before the other two which I remember happening but don't remember the topic/cause of it. Its a shame he didn't keep his act together, we lost someone who kept some life in here.

I've gone deep sea fishing twice. I think the larget I've caught was 12lbs.

I know , it seems like he did something else too, but I don't remember what it was.

The end of the lakers game was the best I've seen in basketball in a while...go lakers.

The biggest thing I've caught was a dogfish (A small shark. :-) ) and I got it right ontside in the bay.

way to go allynfolksjr... the fishing reference i was making was to DEREK FISHER. I didn't mean fishing literally, although that made a nice tangent.

OK, guys, let's not start that which-sucky-basketball-team-is-better thing again.

On a completely unrelated subject, Bowling rules!!!

Basketball and bowling are both sports. Still related.

How about the best methods of tangency? (Getting conversations to go off on tangents.)

I agree, eating is wonderful. Do you have a favorite thing you eat (I'm assuming it's some sort of food), or do you just eat?

Yeah, if you want a tooth and nail fight, not an objective debate. If you want to get right down to it a religion is just a set of beliefs and rules that are closely set to ones perverbial heart. If you attack a persons religion you attack their being. If someone wants to volunteer as the next calcfreak then I say okay to a religion debate.

I absolutely love Sun Chips. One of my friends thought I was nuts with how many I'd eat. Once I finally stuffed one down his thought I can't keep them from him. Sounds like Apple and Macs? 3 tagents for the price of one post. Gotta love it.

I like Beef Jerky, anyone else do also?
also have you seen the new nickel back? it's pretty sick, but not as good an upgrade as the old $20 bill to the new $20
BTW, football is the best sport.
I like RPG's on the computer too
PC's are better than Macs
vote at my IM poll for which calc model you think is the best!
There is actually a difference between java and javascript, you know

Which kind of tangents are we talking about here? the math tangents or random, ADD-like tangents? [j/k] i count 7 tangenst

Bowling does rule. :) I'm curious, if you guys bowl much, what's your averages? Mine was 180 or so in the house league and 185 in travel league.

If bowling is like golf, then I have one the best averages in the state.

BTW, I got a used bowling ball used yesterday. It says ALEX on it, though, so I'm saying it's the ball's name.

Also BTW, we need to slay some of these tangents. They are taking over this forum.

"He stole the code for bobblebubble, said it was his own, then lied and said the author said it was ok. That was one incident."
NO! He stole the code for Bust-A-Move, said it was his heavily modified version.

The Author (Joe Flint) didn't say it was ok, he said it wasn't ok and was intelletctual property theft, he then made the project open source with license constraints.

I agree somewhat about getting rid of some of the tangents. But that's what makes this forum fun, too. I think you get to know the people in the community a lot better that way. Perhaps it'd be better taken to IRC, though.

For what it's worth, I'm gathering some support for starting a new calc channel on the Undernet IRC network. It's #calc over there. In the past, the calculator channels have been on EFnet and #tcpa is still there. Undernet, however, is just as large as EFnet. Anyways, any of you forum regulars are welcome there. Just leave me a message (my nick is ac) and when I'm at my computer, I'll get you ops. That is, you get ops if you're a forum regular. :) I'll even op Laker fans, even though it pains me to do so. :D

OK, the tangents are getting really annoying. By the way, it's gay marriage day! Some of you are angered at this, others don't care, but it's more personal to me. My favorite teacher is getting married; one of my closest friend's mom is getting married; one of the coaches of my crew team is getting married. For me, this is a happy day. Please, conservatives, don't spoil it for those who have been waiting so long!

It's not about whether you're liberal or not, it's about whether you believe in equality for people and human rights.

I'm not going to offer up my opinion on the issue of gay marriage. But there's a compelling argument from the side opposing it that is worthy of being mentioned here.

Marriage is not a basic human right. Instead, marriage is an institution of non-government organizations such as churches and that is recognized by the government in many cases. While there are some secular forms of marriage, they are patterned after the religious form of marriage. Marriage is a religious institution, not a government institution.

There already is equality for homosexuals who live together in the form of so-called civil unions. In many cases, they get the same benefits married couples. Insurance companies, for example, generally recognize civil unions to be equal to marriage.

Gay marriage is not about human rights nor is it about equality. It's an assault on a religious institution, something the government ought to stay out of.

Again, I'm not stating my views nor my opinion, just the other side of the argument.

And Dysfunction, you first ask conservatives to not spoil it for you and then you say support for gay marriage isn't about being liberal or conservative. You've contradicted yourself.

they have their free agency, HOWEVER, i don't think they should be allowed to be "married"... civil unions are fine.. allowing gays to marry eachother ruins marriage for other people... it makes it less special for them.

jiminy cricket! this entire debate has already happened before, so don't re-start it. the previous argument had many points for both sides, but lets just say they both lost (or won, either way). could we please pick a different topic? (and something actually debate-able, not like fishing...)

That reminds me, i need to get an avatar.

But also, go waaaay back to the beginning [at least of the debate threads] and look at Dysfunctional's first statement. We started off the series of debate threads w/ gay marriage, and i don't think we need to debate it again. Also, i think we discussed religion enough also. BTW, read what Z said somewheer in there about "To B: yeah B, i think we should keep this as a thread. there isn't any real need to make a debate forum." Ironic, eh? the debate therads combined probably take up more space on here than all the rest together.

Kinda adding on to Redux's thing about Dysfunction contradicting himself, read this from his profile [no offense meant]:
"...and closed-minded people SUCK."
Closed-minded: Intolerant of the beliefs and opinions of others; stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas. [www.dictionary.com]

Now, when i read this, what i hear is 'all closed minded people SUCK'. And if that's true, you're being stereotypical Dysfunctional. Stereotyping is just another of many forms of closed-mindedness. So therefore, by your own statement you "SUCK". Would that be true?[Nothing personal, D, just wanted to show you your self-contradictions].

BTW, that penguin does need to be re-vamped PhilEd

EDIT: I just noticed, Kirby's bowling ball's name is the same as mine! cool!

i liked it better when he was fat and ugly. now he's all skinny and pretty. what this represents is the acceptance one gains from conforming to society but the loss of soul that ultimately results. you should all be ashamed!!!
jk

btw, i just have to rub in the fact to all you haters out there that the pacers smeared the heat in the eastern conference semi-finals. i wonder who they will play next...

For the last time PhilEd, the East this year, and for the past five years, hasn't stood a chance against the west when ity comes to finals. Pacers

WON'T

win this year. Hard as that may be to comprehend, the Lakers will obliterate any eastern competitor in the finals
