I was wondering if CG would want to host mods for various PC games? I know that we do host a small selection of windows based games and programs and this is great. Adding mods to the site will increase popularity and bring in new people.

I know that I have moded a few maps for halo and other first person shooter games, and I think others would be interested in this sort of thing.

Of course they would all have to be legal, witch normally isn't an issue with free downloads and proper credit given to the original maker of the game.

It is just a suggestion, what are your guys thoughts?

I think that that's a great idea.

In most countries selling harmful things like drugs is punishable. Then howcome people can sell Microsoft software and go unpunished? (By hasku@rost.abo.fi, Hasse Skrifvars http://www.linuxweb.com/lw_quotes.html)

Sure, I'd like to see some halo maps, wait, do you have to have Halo CE to play them? Or does it work on normal halo.

There are three versions of Halo 1 for the pc. Halo Trial, Halo, and Halo CE. Halo and Halo CE can run the same maps. But you can only have one map with the map name on Halo. On Halo CE you can have as many as your hard drive can hold. Both use the same files and you mod them the exact same way. You only run into trouble with the Halo Trial, those maps are different and do not always work with the other two versions.

If an Admin says it is cool then I will go ahead and upload a map that I made, as well as create a tutorial on how to mod them. There are some programs and files you have to download and I can reference them in the tutorial. All are free and are some what easy to use.

Just give the ok, Nikky, B or any other Admin and I'll get to work.
