I mean I'm right in the middle of something and bam the little 'Webpage not available offline page appears.' I'm using FF obviously. The only reason I even use it is when I'm checking critical updates.
Help me stop it. I've even upgraded to IE7. I also to a spyware check, virus scan, everyday at 7:00 PM.

I use avast, its free and great. It is my ant-virus, anti-spy ware, and more i just don't feel like listing them all.
About Linux. Personally I would stick with windows if I where you. Linux is really complicated and is intended for advanced users. I don't even run Linux, but I really don't like it that much. And not because of user reasons.

You might want to try Adwarealert and Spybot Search and Destroy. My Desktop was doing what you described until I ran those two prgrams.
And don't think that just one antivirus will work. Each have their own strengths and weaknesses. I used to have AVG, Avast, and Norton on my old machine... Now I just don't go to too many places on the web... :P

spoiler alert-----------------------------------------------------
donnie darko wakes up in the middle of the road in the beginning of the movie, thats when he wakes up in the parrallel universe. he then controls it, and is the master of water and fire, symbolized by certain things you will see. he later will die and take up all the things that go wrong in that world to make them right in the reg universe. in that respect people think donnie represents jesus.
