(some of you, probably all ready know how, but i have received A LOT of questions about it)
anyway; you go to: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/373/37341.html
and download 'rom8x.zip' and extract the files, then send the correct file to your calc:
ti-83+ = G83PBE1.8xp ti-83+ se = G83PSE1.8XP
ti-84 plus ROMS need TWO programs!!
ti-84+ = G84PBE1.8XP + G84PBE2.8XP ti-84+ se = G84PSE1.8XP + G84PSE2.8XP
!!! EMPTY YOUR RAM FIRST except for the file you just sent 2 ur calc!!
then use the 'ASM(' token then the program's name
example:
ASM(prgmG83PBE1
---- and press enter
then an appVAR will be created
send the appVAR to your PC (to the 'ROM8X' folder )
!!!!for the TI-84+ you must do this twice for; G84PBE1.8XP and G84PBE2.8XP !!!!
now, if you tryed to send it to an emulator it would NOT work!
so open CMD
and type CD (then a space) then the directory were rom8x is located:
such as:
cd C:/rom8x/
or drag-n-drop rom8x.exe into cmd (then type a space)
rom8x calcType [-1 fileName [-2 fileName]] [-u fileName] 83PBE first dump 84+only 2nd dump os file 83PSE 84PBE 84PSE
for my example I will use a TI-83+ with os 1.18
rom8x calcType -1 D83PBE1.8xv -u TI83Plus_OS118.8Xu ------------- !notice! if you used drag-n-drop for ROM8x.8xe you must drag-n-drop for everything! -------------
------------- !notice! if when you drag-n-drop a file, there is a "space" in the directory; such as c:\documents and settings\bob\desktop\rom8x.exe
you must put it in quotations, Like: "c:\documents and settings\bob\desktop\rom8x.exe" (some computers do it AUTOMATICLY) ----------------------------------------------------
DRAG-n-DROP INSTRUCTIONS
1.drag-n-drop ROM8x.exe into a CMD box
2.press 'space bar' then type your calc type:(83PBE,83PSE,84+PBE,84PSE)
3. press 'space bar' then type '-1' and 'press space' bar again
4. now drag-n-drop the DUMP FILE (ends in .8xv) ands press 'space bar'
4.5 !! this is only if you have an 84+!! press 'space bar' then type '-2' and 'press space' bar again
now drag-n-drop the 2nd DUMP FILE (ends in .8xv) ands press 'space bar'
6. now type "-u" and press 'space bar'
7. now you need to locate you TI-83+ (of 84+ if you are using an 84+) and drag-n drop it!
8.now press 'ENTER'
it should say it is complete! and it will out put a .BIN file
and now your done!! :)

Not news. But a good step-by-step, I guess. |
