Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | allynfolksjr | After a slight delay which we shall blame on Google, Detached Solutions, a mentoring organization for Summer of Code, has announced their accepted project proposals for this summer. Without any further details, what follows are the projects these brave students of lore will be working on this glorious summer; if you see them on the street, be sure to thank them for their tireless work and avoiding all contact with the outside world as they valiantly help improve our world.
-
Our very own Andrew Janata a system hook manager application for the 83+/84+ series.
-
Spencer has decided to spend his efforts creating a Scheme Interpreter for the 83+ series.
-
And finally... Benjamin Moody is boldly implementing a Logo Interpreter for the 83+ series.
Congratulations to all accepted and be sure to thank Marinus Warmer, Scott Dial and Brandon Wilson for their work as mentors. | 11 Apr 2007, 19:26 GMT |

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | Barrett | Congratulations to you.
And to the rest of you who didn't get accepted... I'm sure you can still make your projects anyways..

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | allynfolksjr | It's a shame that college aged programmers aren't all supported to explore their hobby and future career--it would really pay off in the long run in this nation's economy. | | 12 Apr 2007, 16:47 GMT |

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | haveacalc | By the time I'm 18 enough to participate, I hope I come off as decent SOC material. Good job, those who will be a part of it this year. Those projects look crazily worthy.

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | banjo2E | By the time I'm 18 enough to participate, I'll probably have Macromedia Flash and be making awesome flash, about 25% of which is calc-related.

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | banjo2E | Hey, why is Google to blame for the delay? I know they probably caused it, but what exactly happened?

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | banjo2E | Why don't you people ever give me the answer I request, but only a blinding flash of the obvious and/or a bunch of useless crap?

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | Andy | Hey, it was only a couple hours this year. Last year, it was over a day, and they accidentaly sent out acceptance emails to about 1/3 of the rejected students.
Blame the mentoring organizations that had conflicts over students for the delay, not Google. | | 15 Apr 2007, 10:34 GMT |

| Re: Students Accepted for Summer of Code Announced! | threefingeredguy | Andy finally wrote something?
