Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | Andy | This robot was made by a group of students in Belgium for a solar-powered robotics contest. The entire unit, including the calculator, draws power from the solar panel. The robot did not win the contest; however it was the media's favorite. More information here.

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | Andy | I'm guessing it's a Europe thing. The up and down buttons aren't connected, so that rules out an 84+. | | 23 Mar 2005, 19:17 GMT |

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | korkow | It says it's an 83+ though... | | 23 Mar 2005, 19:58 GMT |

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | Andy | Correct, I'm just saying it can't be a case of misinformation. It's definitely a white 83+/SE. Also, you can tell because the link port is on the bottom. | | 23 Mar 2005, 20:44 GMT |

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | wraith | Yeah, I was looking at the buttons as well, and came to the same conclusion. Maybe it's an opaque silver edition. | | 23 Mar 2005, 22:26 GMT |

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | Andy | I have now been informed that it might be a case-modded 83+, explaining the whiteness. My source is not sure, however. | | 24 Mar 2005, 08:34 GMT |

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | zkostik | Yeah, the robot looks pretty cool.
The calc case is just colored. If you look at the screenies you'll notice that 2nd/alpha labes are not there. Also, if you look near the lcd plate you'll see some paint slightly going over the edge. Either way, white calc did look rather nice.

| Re: Solar-powered Vacuum Controlled by an 83+ | Andy | Kind of helps when I actually visit the forum where it was posted, and ticalc staff don't, and they need to be emailed, and I don't, if that makes any sense whatsoever. :P | | 29 Mar 2005, 10:30 GMT |
