 Posted: 11 Oct 2002 16:00 GMT Total Posts: 1676 | as soon as you finish the search script, you've gotta rewrite the upload script. it's gotta have the category chooser (like the one you've got on the search page), a browse for the zip file OR an option for a link. and it's gotta have 4 screen shot browse thingies.
also, the 'Popular Sections' and 'Recent Files' need their links updated ASAP...

Z, 1 more thing we need in those options for the category is 68k programs/games/ebooks etc.. if a file has both 89 and 92+ compatability then that'll be convinient.

 Posted: 12 Oct 2002 21:15 GMT Total Posts: 1676 | nice work with the search script Z! works perfectly... except 1 problem, with case sensitive off, it'll work and all, but it won't highlight matching words if one letter's case is different.
well... a few more problems i guess... it posts the long name, then the short name with no space... and it'll highlight too much sometimes...

 Posted: 12 Oct 2002 21:39 GMT Total Posts: 2486 | hum...right now it fixes the problems said above. however there's still one small bug somewhere that prevents the search from showing just correct results and also shows some results that include part of the search query. i fixed the highlighting bug using some string commands. (check the source B to see how)

 Posted: 12 Oct 2002 23:50 GMT Total Posts: 1676 | ok, the main menu kind of works, but not really.... the one thing i couldn't do was sort the files in order from most recently modified to least recently... which is important (as you can see, the adventures of tom sawyer's date is earlier than some others that aren't listed there)... so can you do that when you have time Z? and popular sections is nowhere near done, but i did update those links with files.cgi links

 Posted: 13 Oct 2002 11:17 GMT Total Posts: 2486 | your right about dates, but as far as our db goes, that file is recent as far as its position in the db. i don't think we should sort those files since its easier to see order in which they were added. i'd say it's a fairly small problem. for now, we (well... I) should really focus on updating our files submission. i'm working on it right now btw.

 Posted: 13 Oct 2002 22:53 GMT Total Posts: 1676 | no, the sorting will sort by the date MODIFIED. which i think you should be able to understand is much better than date added. ok, i'm pretty sure it works now. it displays at least 10 files, as well as all files added in the last 7 days.
