I'm not trying to be mean, I've had some copyright issues myself, but you need permission from the game author. May I ask what game it is? The author needs to be contacted, if the author allows, it might be acceptable.
Tell me what game it is, then maybe I can tell you a little more, cause the author might perfer you link their site as well. |
spiral Wraith Posted: 11 Nov 2003 17:42 GMT Total Posts: 958 | I dont' see anythign wrong with linking like this.
There migth be some problems if the link took the person directly to the download, because then we wouldn't be getting the traffic but still the downloads (happens to ticalc a lot). But this link takes you to the main page and gives credit to calcgames.org, I dont' think there's anythign wrong with it. |
calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 11 Nov 2003 19:32 GMT Total Posts: 739 | but, it's more the author's decision, but it's also calcgames.org's property. The author gave calcgames.org their game-not anyone else's site. I believe that unless the author says yes, sorry. |

This is so that we can keep count of clicks and if you link to a file, you have to do it this way. Giving us a link is not required though, but thanks for adding it anyway. We keep server logs and will find what hosts are leeching files and these will be disabled. So, if you want to link use the right link that gives site and file author the downloads their files gets.
Below is an example of what your download link should look like: http://www.calcgames.org/cgi-bin/files/files.cgi?action=download&ID=21
This link will request a download of file with ID 21. Just change it to your file ID.
To view the file description page you can use a link similar to this: http://www.calcgames.org?id=21
