neutral_observer Probe Posted: 10 Nov 2003 18:46 GMT Total Posts: 3 | Hi...I've been watching your forums without posting... and I have but one question I have to ask...
What does one must do to be a admid on this site? I, along with others, might be interested...you seem to be in need of moderators...dedicated file reviewers (like ticalc.org had a while back)...and other various positions...

I'm assmuing you'd probably become a mod, and then an admin, cause the admins here have lots of authority and power *looking up into the sunlight from jail cell*. Just kidding, but the admins here have alot of authority-trust me-I learned the hard way.

spiral Wraith Posted: 10 Nov 2003 23:22 GMT Total Posts: 958 | Well, to be a mod, you have to have interest in the site/calcualtors/knowledge and a desire to help people (though we're in a slack period for questions right now). If you want to be a Mod (which is actually mostly unnecessary currently) get involved in the site, post, help people out, be constructive, and also ask B and Z.
To become a dedicated file reviewer, try e-mailing Z, he's handles most of the site stuff.
There isn't really any set method of becoming an Admin (B and Z started it, so they're admins, Digital has been here a logn time, posted a lot, helped out, submitted some tankers maps, etc so he's an admin, I just did some graphics work for SAS). You'd have to add a lot to the site and be accepted by B and Z. |
Zootch Goliath Posted: 10 Nov 2003 23:51 GMT Total Posts: 146 | I would like to be an admin.... I will rule you all with an iron fist! *Grabs neutral* YOU! Obey the fist! :weird: |
calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 11 Nov 2003 10:07 GMT Total Posts: 739 | Hahaha. Yeah, Zootch, but I think you're more the type of person to handl site graphics and stuff-maybe you could. How about it? Zootch as our graphics man? |
calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 11 Nov 2003 10:07 GMT Total Posts: 739 | AND you could like make logos for the CG logo on Christmas and stuff-like google!!! That would ROCK!! |
Zootch Goliath Posted: 11 Nov 2003 11:12 GMT Total Posts: 146 | sadly, that sounds about right for me... |
calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 11 Nov 2003 13:26 GMT Total Posts: 739 | Whatca mean? I think that being a graphics designer would be great for you-cause you have so much creativity and talent. But, it's all up to you, and it's not my decision, but it's a suggestion.

You have to stick around on the forums so that people get to know you. Be friendly and helpful. And when we feel you deserve to be modded, we'll mod you. Generally, just do what any regular user would do when they come to their favorite forum. Post, have fun, help out others and then if you let us know you'd like to be modded we'll think it over. Right now, you're too new and no one knows about you so people should get to know you first. This is bascially it, although we do have positions we still prefer to take people that we know something about. Alright, thanks for asking and feel free to stick around and we'll see how you're doing later on.
Cheers!
EDIT: I almost forgot, we'll only give out a mod status when we feel you're ready. Though, we may give you special privleges if you prove yourself to be a good member. As far as file reviewer go, not yet. The new system is not up yet and we will not be looking for reviewers until its done. I'm not going into explaining why though.

calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 12 Nov 2003 18:14 GMT Total Posts: 739 | Yeah, besdies, ANYONE should be able to review like we have now. Maybe, just a thought, if you review like 10 games. . . . |

Complete your thought and maybe something will happen, just a thought :)

In honor of veteran's day, he has 'nam flashbacks |
