Total Posts: 1676 | not anymore... we wrote the bottom two parts of the menu right around the time we scripted the file database (a little less than two years ago), so we were newbies at coding and the 'recent files' went through every file for every file (so the number of files squared) to check if it was a recent file. now it'll only go through all the files for every file in the list, and as soon as a file isn't in the list it stops looping (cause it pre-sorts it). anyway, i hope that helps... for some reason the poll is still slow to load; i'll look into that.
Edit: just kidding it was the popular files thing... i just learned a new trick! the 'last' function (like break in C)... now the menu loads nearly instantly.

Total Posts: 2486 | no, CG loads slowly in IE because of the multiple framesets. though, the routines in many site scripts are rather old...che che...
awesome job B, the new menu speed totally owns the old one. it's nice that you've also changed the number of popular files since it was really static due to large number of dls on the ones we had there.

Total Posts: 1676 | Z, check the todo list... there are two more things (one has to do with active users on the stats box on the main teemz page... i forget what the other is)... i can't do anything about those until i get my computer, and then it'll take a few days to get settled in, but if there's anything that needs to get done at that time i'll try to help out, but i'm not sure how much i'll be able to work (probably a lot... college isn't that busy for me, unlike other people).
