* file rating system got it's file quality descriptions changed. i think these are more fair to files with lower than 80% scores. files ratings are now similar to the ones in PC mag which i think are really nice. lemme know what you think or if you have better descriptors. * some admin feats are added. that includes avatar tooltip text as well as italicized text message to put above avatar. if there is enough demand, this may be allowed for other members but you gotta speak up for it. though, regular members will not be able to display certain words. * a new profile feature is on its way and its a little option that will let you disable emoticons. this feature is actually all coded into my local version of teemz and will make it onto the site this night (hopefully). i'm sure some folks will find this feat useful. * i'm currently working on a general FAQ for the website as well. if you think you may have some site questions that should be included on the list, plrease feel free to drop me an email.
okay, that's about it for now. btw, please let me know if you have problems after updates are made. everyone can make a bug and i'd appreciate bug reports if you find any bugs. this will help us defeat those pesky little critters and make this site better for everyone.
thanks.

We'll of course get other visual faq's for some other calcs and there's already a TI-FAQ but we still need to have people read it before asking. I know that ti-faq is kinda big and newbies aren't always sure of what exactly they're looking for. Perhaps we should make a little troubleshooting guide of somesort (like windoze troubpleshooting) that would point these poor souls to the correct section of ti-faq.

This is to let people turn off any extra stuff off. You could have text but not the picture, but only if avatars are enabled. For now, the feature isn't completely done but if you'd like to use it the please drop me and email and I'll tell you how you can get yours.

Not Really realated, but don't really want to open new topic for this: Is it possible to have a page that shows recent reviews, of a list of all reviews? |

Posted: 2 Aug 2004 10:36 GMT Total Posts: 2486 | Okay, I've finally got around to add the files. Once again I'd like to point out that filenames should have no spaces as I saw some files in the upload attempt list that were dropped because of white spaces. One of the files was Mario BadBoyz which I guess was for the contest, please resubmit that file.
Also, we will be putting out a beta for the new file manager but for now we'd like to ask if anyone would be willing to take some of their time to test the current version. You'd just upload the files you were going to upload using the new system and will send us an email commenting on the system ease of use or anything else worth pointing out as well as reporting any bugs you may find. We appreciate all the help and if you'd like to help please email/PM me or Barrett (barrett@calcgames.org) to receive a test link. Thanks.

I've also changed the forum front page a lil. Now PM link will only show in green when you have PMs in your inbox. While you either don't have any PMs there or have deleted them, the link will not stand out annoyingly. :)

JcCorp Probe Posted: 15 Aug 2004 13:52 GMT Total Posts: Edit | what's wrong with green? another suggestion would be to only allow people with accounts to submit files, or at least to be able to link a submission name to a forum name. |

Posted: 16 Aug 2004 09:45 GMT Total Posts: 2486 | that's exactly what will happen. once the new uploader is done people will need an account to upload their files. we'll also have to improvise a method to let people claim their files since they are not linked to accounts now. Though, most folks who uploaded files did have accounts and we'll most likely find them via email matching or something of that sort. Speaking of forum names, they're really more like site account now since everything is based on them. I don't know if you noticed that or not but ratings, reviews and a few other things have always required you to have an account.
