Edit
I don't know about the other authors that come here frequently and check how there stats are doing, but I was curious if you could add the file rating for each file in the authors files page, and maybe something at the bottom for all files together to show the publics general rating on the author.

Anyone else think this worthy?

Another suggestion: some sort of Karma system that gives posters prividges based on # of posts and # of problems they caused. If not that, then a warning system/personal ignore system would be cool so I wouldn't have to deal with those I don't like. (Although I really don't know anyone like that.

Hm, I don't like either of those ideas, and I'm pretty sure they would be hard to implement in the forum system.

Okay, I just had a decent, normal idea. Could you fix it up so that I am sent an email if I get a PM?

No, no karma please!!! I hate the whole karma idea, so please don't even ask about it. It'd ruin the whole community and will likely promote people to post junk to bump up their karma. Besides, it would be extremely hard to implement something like that into this forum anyway. We may work out comment rating but such things will not affect anyone's particular status, and I think it shouldn't anyway. If you're a good user, others will respect you regardless of your karma level. PM emails, maybe...I'll see what I can do about that.

Yeah, that email notifying of a PM is a pretty good idea, actually.

I'm also curious as to the # of hits the main page gets. Mind sticking a counter somewhere?

Prolly not a counter because those aren't very accurate unless you put lots of work into them. If others would also like stats page, we could be posting our webalizer charts on monthly basis (weekly?) so that everyone can check them out.

Below are the 2004 stats (they are not 100% accurate because logging was sometimes disabled during that year due to bandwidth/storage issues):

thnx B. Do you think you could make one outside of the forum that updates every once in a bit or is manually done?

it's automatically done but is only accessible with a password... we could copy the html files for everyone else, i suppose...

we'll see... we may even set up pages in pages.cgi for this.
