TI Freak Probe Posted: 20 Mar 2006 08:24 GMT Total Posts: Edit | I was wondering how one's file would make it on the Top Rated file list (i.e. the minimum requirements), and the popular files list?
I am just wondering, because I can't remember if there was ever a discussion about them... |

JcCorp Probe Posted: 20 Mar 2006 14:26 GMT Total Posts: Edit | I think I actually know this!
To be in the top rated files, a file must have a high rating and at least five votes. As for popular, it's probably determined by highest downloads per day. |

So basically files that have been here for less time and have more per-day downloads get higher score and go on the list. Have a look at the file stats page and sort it by DL/Day to see how your stuff is doing. While the list does look a bit biased towards you know which game, some new games such as Space Station Pheta did also made it there so I guess it's quite possible if the files is good. :)
Oh yeah, I did have to look at the source to confirm on that. Shame on me :)

TI Freak Probe Posted: 21 Mar 2006 05:22 GMT Total Posts: Edit | dl/dy... I guess I will have to start updating my stuff more frequently... :D
And as to the ratings, one of my progs have 4 votes and sitting at 9.7... That isn't fair... lol
Edit:
I can't complain too loudly, I will soon be taking position in #22 slot, as I gain on the makers of ZDOOM... :)
