calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 30 Nov 2003 12:56 GMT Total Posts: 739 | Cellphone, laptops don't compare to computers-and they aren't worth it, I know, I own one. Also, a junky car? Why? If it doesn't run, you could get killed or hurt. |

As for staying on topic, in order for people to give good advice, we need to know why you want/need any of those and how your lifestyle is so we can make a judgement on which will be best. |

"As for staying on topic, in order for people to give good advice, we need to know why you want/need any of those and how your lifestyle is so we can make a judgement on which will be best."
This topic is OT? I'm so confused.
EDIT: Haven't we given advice before, hows this OT? I don't want to OT myself . . . and look like a n00b.

Billy Ultralisk Posted: 30 Nov 2003 14:22 GMT Total Posts: 260 | I'm not going to flat out tell you which one to get, but I'll tel you what I think about each one. Maybe the perspectives will help you out some. 1-buying a laptop? Laptops are extremely useful. You can take your work and entertainment with you. However, they're not exactly upgradeable like a desktop, and they're quite expensive as you get towards better technology. Looking for one you'll just keep thinking "for $100 more, look how much more I can get!". The more you think that, the more expensive it becomes ;-) Also, electricity blackouts won't screw you over when working on a project.
2-buying a cellphone? Also useful. Makes yourself available to others, and at a fairly cheap price. It's there for emergencies along the road or wherever, and built in phone-book funtions make life a lot easier. Those monthly bills do add up though!
3-buying used junky car? Cars are nice to get around in, but it's best to save up for a better car that won't fall apart on you. Just mooch rides off your friends. Trust me. |
calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 30 Nov 2003 14:28 GMT Total Posts: 739 | Realize this-you ca't get internet with your laptop unless you're at home-or unless your wireless connection system can pick a signal from china! |
Momen Soudan Marine Posted: 30 Nov 2003 15:29 GMT Total Posts: 34 | all i need is your opnion that's all.. besides, not really junky used car,it just used car.it will runs.. i mean junky, that's is not brand-new.. and the most important thing guys,i want your opnion, just you know listening to opnions and having fun, that's all. |

spiral Wraith Posted: 30 Nov 2003 18:36 GMT Total Posts: 958 | I have a used old car, it runs quite well. 1990 Volvo, also those old volvos are "built like a tank."
But anyways, about the three choices. Laptop - most useful in college imo, if you're in high school, I see little need for a laptop (it can be useful once in a while), maybe get one senior year, but you might as well wait, since battery life is improving. Phone - getting a phone is probably a good idea for the same reasons as what billy said, I want one, but I don't really need one yet since I don't really make many calls, but maybe when I get my license... Car - do you have your license/permit? It might be a good idea, imo, a better idea than getting a laptop. |

As a matter of fact, this one time I was turning out of my street too fast (in the Camero) when it was just raining. I did a 360º spin. No joke. And I just missed the telephone pole across the way! I don't evben want to imagine it in the snow...
As for the Honda, that sucker just keeps on rolling... about 160,000 now. |

Billy Ultralisk Posted: 2 Dec 2003 14:29 GMT Total Posts: 260 | I agree, but if I want a truck, there's no way I'm getting a toyota or Nissan! |
Momen Soudan Marine Posted: 2 Dec 2003 19:34 GMT Total Posts: 34 | The good Japanese cars are kind of expensive, even when they are used.. and the American cars, can be cheap when they're used... Hmmmm,i beter make a wise choice :questioned_a: |

Momen Soudan Marine Posted: 19 Dec 2003 09:11 GMT Total Posts: 34 | I agree with you Billy 100%. That's really werid about Jaguar cars, even the new model cars are even uglier than the older ones.. maybe only few, that had a cool shape, but there are expenisve.. calculatorfreakCG Wraith Posted: 12 Jan 2004 15:28 GMT Total Posts: 739 | Yeah, like we're probably never gonna marry our favorite stars, Keira Knightly, Natalie Portman, or whoever! (And in the case of some the girls Orladno Bloom).
Heres the interview someone had at a Keira Kngithly site, (spiral, sorry about the porn stuff, I don't go to those sites, it just came up on a google link.)
Keira Knightly:
Lizo: Come on - what's it like, give us a bit of detail. Keira: Give us a bit of detail?! He kissed (Olrando Bloom), I kissed, the sun set, it's all very romantic, we have fabulous clothes, he had a big feather in his hair and it's all good. Lizo: How long did it take to film that scene? Did you keep on having to do extra takes just to make sure you got it absolutely spot on? Keira: Obviously we had to get the feel of the kiss completely right so we did it six or seven times, it took several hours, lovely! Although there is a passionate romance between your character and Orlando's going on, the two of you don't have a lot of scenes together. What did you do to make sure there was chemistry between the two of you on screen? Keira: 'Orlando and I went on a date when we found out we were in Pirates together. Just to get to know each other really. Because this is about a couple who are willing to die for each other. We talked all night and drank tea. It clicked right away, so there was chemistry. |
