Zootch Goliath Posted: 20 Apr 2004 19:45 GMT Total Posts: 146 | Hi, this is Zootch. I couldn't come here for a long time because I was busy working at Disney. my application finally went through! I am an animator, so far I worked on a cancelled project and I am in-between projects. I am, however on the tiny payrole. so I have all the time in the world (no wife) anyway, I decided to re-join the community of calculator programers. And, if no one welcomes me, I'll at least expect some akward silence... |

Same Q as allyn. I doubt Disney will fully get rid of hand drawing but they probably will do more and more on computers. Anime still has huge part that's hand drawn and just as big of a part drawn on computer.

Evil Kirby Dragoon Posted: 21 Apr 2004 13:54 GMT Total Posts: 55 | AAhhh... who cares, Disney will be bankrupt in a decade anyway.
2 reasons Disney will fail:
*Eisner is getting 99.98% of the companies profits.
*They're just rehashing all their old movies. Lion King 1.5. C'mon. And what was with Cinderella 2 and Snow white 2?! Din't they live happily ever after?
Ok, maybe I'm just a little biased. |

spiral Wraith Posted: 22 Apr 2004 01:04 GMT Total Posts: 958 | welcome back zootch. So what are you working on at Disney?
oh and if u didn't know, calcfreak got banned. You can check it out in debate page 4.
I can't say i love/hate Disney movies (they're not bad if ur reliving childhood). Their theme parks are more aimed towards "younger" audiences (compared to six flags), but after going to six flags, I really want to go back to Disneyland, the organization of rides, and trying to minimize waits is a million times better at disneyland. Maybe it's just inherent in roller coasters that you can only have a few people on at once, but Disneyland is a lot more enjoyable experience. Still, the food is about as overpriced at one as the other. |
Zootch Goliath Posted: 23 Apr 2004 17:11 GMT Total Posts: 146 | I am a traditional 2-d animator with a simple pencil and paper in a crappy cubicle. I don't even get a corner cube where the window is! anyway, yes Disney has been loosing money for the past five years. If their is a merger I get to laugh at all the admin. people because they are usually fired. AND with a merger, my pay for a short time won't relate to my work! |
Zootch Goliath Posted: 23 Apr 2004 17:13 GMT Total Posts: 146 | unless they "clean house" that would mean I will get fired on the spot because I am not a senior animator and they are cutting unnecessary people...crap! |
Zootch Goliath Posted: 23 Apr 2004 17:16 GMT Total Posts: 146 | as far as subliminal messages, has anyone heard the alladin mishap or seen the rescuers background issue? |
spiral Wraith Posted: 23 Apr 2004 23:31 GMT Total Posts: 958 | yes, recently i heard of it.
Snopes.com, great site, here's the link for disney movie related things: http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/films.asp |
Zootch Goliath Posted: 24 Apr 2004 00:17 GMT Total Posts: 146 | I was wondering when someone would mention snopes! I found that site a long time ago looking for the story on "Joe Camel"
Snopes doesn't cover the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit as well as I would have liked... |

I won't repeat them here, but look for the part where the monkey steals the gem and the part where the princess is on the balcony and see for yourself
