Specs are supposedly decent enough for a handheld. PSP supposedly has better specs than PS2. How did you get it so early spiral? I'm getting mine on 24th and for a good low price btw.

Edit
Probably an import. Japan had 'em for a while.

Can you get the disk to fly out by twisting it? I saw a movie of it, and I wonder if it really that easy...

Mine won't eject the disc if I try to twist it. Unless maybe I twist hard enough to break the screen. I believe the specs are dual 333 mhz MIPS processors, one only for media or somehting like that. 480x272 4:9 4.3 inch screen. Analog, digital controls.

I got a japanese import while in hong kong.

Yes, the unit does have dual MIPS procs but frequency wasn't really said to be 333. It could be that, it could dynamically clock itself from 1-333 or be hard set in a range from 1 to 333. I'd probably guess the second though would be more realistic for a handheld unit. And yeah, Japan got these during last december. Had Sony relesed the unit in USA that xmas they would have sold waaaay more unit than they did so far... Oh well. I'm getting the psp 2 game pack and the unit for $144+tax. :)

well of course they would have. and any way they will probably sell a modified version of a PSP by next december (which i'll never get- I never ever have gotten any thing new. - i got a super nintendo when 64 came out, a 64 when the play station was doing better, and finally when i got a PS2-2 years after it comes out- PSP is sweeping the nation.) Oh and i only have 3 games- Total immersion racing(sucks), 007 nightfire, and medal of honor frontline.- and i can only play for about an hour on sunday evenings. and thats the time when i'm rushing to finish my HW too! so i end up playing mars patrol on my calc. But next week i'm allowed to as much as i want to from 9:00 to 7:00. Finally!

The problem for Sony isn't demand, the demand in Japan is just about as high as it is in the United States. The problem is that they can't make PSP units (and games, which have to be specially encased in Japan) fast enough to supply both Japan and the United States.

Btw, how'd you get such good hook-ups Z?

Then wouldn't the problem still be demand?

No. The problem is supply. It there is more demand than there are items, the problem is demand. It there are more items than there is demand for, then the problem is supply.

That's how much my store gets it from the mfg. These markups are not always like that but usually only on high demand items and stuff. Though, this prices tells you that it doesn't cost all that much to manufacture these puppies. As we all know, most of their money will come from games anyway. Well, I'll wait till I check PSP out for real and will post comments later. I'm actually eager to check it out as I love all the gadgets and such.

No, its not supply that's the problem. It's marketing. If the unit is hard to get, more people are likely to get itnerested. Others such as resellers may try to snatch the scarce units to sell for higher price and all that. This is just like Nintendo was milking out its DS, little by little. I personally think its the case here too!
