Total Posts: 2486 | It is overpriced but if you're looking at dialup of backup account then AOL at least is more stable that other servies like cheapo PeoplePC and such. I'm glad I switched off from dialup a looong time ago but some people still use it so go figure. Service quality-wise, AOL is overall one of the best for dialup so I guess that kicks up the price. If they were to toss all the news and such crap then they would have been cheaper. And stupid error thing can really be said about anything, M$, Apple and a host of other companies that run their monopoly business and don't care much about the end users.

Total Posts: 2007 | I hate AOL almost as much as I hate apple, and for the simple reason that they seem to be devoid of all knowledge on how to a) run customer care (that's mostly oriented at apple, i've only used AOL internet very sparsely) and b) create decent programs. AOL in general does nothing but clutter my desktop and hard drive with crappy programs that do absolutely nothing for me and I don't want, but they manage to find their way there anyways. And don't get me started on Apple. I have a couple million complaints for them, and I've voiced most of them loudly in public areas before. I have SBC DSL, and it has a decent price, considering it is just as fast as cable and you don't have to share the same line with your entire neighborhood. |
