If you really want to waste time, try to find the fountain of youth. It took me a good 7 minutes to find it... but, because I live so far North, it was, of course, frozen. *For sale! Icecubes of Youth! Only $999.99 Canadian, or about $36.75 US dollars*

Perpetual motion is always a good start, and when you finish that you can move on to cold fusion and time travel.

Edit
Oh, I've already mastered time travel. Just stick your antigravity boots in a microwave and set it on the highest setting.

However, I could never figure out how to get the anti-gravity thing working again. That'd be a good project for you.

(And if you want a serious answer, I suggest WPI's Frontiers program. It's the one I went to, and it was generally awesome.)

Yeah, I was mostly suggesting those as starter projects, but now that you've given away one of them, it shouldn't take more than a week to get both the others done, they're really quite simple. Other suggestions, I'd have to say the National Deficit is a decent challenge, as is AI. Building an interstellar rocket can be cool too; my first one went to alpha centauri, but I bet you could do better, I only had a few days. One that's really stumped me for a while is how to make Windows virus-proof. If you can do that, you'll be crowned the king of impossibilities :D .

BTW Jc, I got an e-mail from WPI a few weeks back, apparently they liked my PSAT scores. It looks like a great school from what I've seen on their letters/website. I'm glad you've chosen to go there.

Somewhat. That only took me about a month two summers ago. eternally defeating the blue screen of death is much more complicated, a feat accomplished by none so far.

Enough to propel you past the speed of light, which is why you have the antigravity boots, to reverse the effects of gravity on speed. A standard 1.3 gigawatt flux capacitator works fine too :) .
