Total Posts: 1676 | i'm pretty sure if you start sending the OS (or ID, i think it's the OS though, if it isn't OS try ID), but when it's about half way through or so take out the link... i'm pretty sure that might crash it.. if it doesn't ya might wanna check with some z80 programmers... some of them can change the ROM around and stuff... so yeah

Total Posts: 2486 | If you send the OS and interrut it, it will not only crash the calc but corrupt the calc OS as well ==> which will require you to reinstall the OS (and maybe even have worser problems). You can however get various trick programs if you look in ticalc's ti-83+/asm/misc folder. I might try finding some for you but only after I get back from my vacation (in about a week from now). Cya all!! Oh, and about hacking into the rom, it is possible but not to that extent. You can only change the about menu realatively easily. And if you fail you'll spend another 40 mins sending the correct rom. My friend changed the ti-89 about screen to say his name, etc. Which can't be erased by memory clearing. Very cool!
