you might want to add that the 2.08 ti-89 os will only properly work with hw2 calcs. it scared the crap out of me when the lcd never fully turned off with my hw1 calc.

Anytime. AMS 2.08 also works with VTI. When I tried, anyway...

I never had problems with AMS 2.08 on HW1. I think you mean Digital. But now that you mention it, I did put 2.08 on my friends HW1. Never ran into a problem. Couldn't use the clock, but he never had a any problems with it. Except that maxmem couldn't do much for him... But never had problems.

When he turned his calc off, it did have a couple of lines flash across the screen, but it was doing that anyway with 2.05. Actually, much worse with 2.05...

Yeah, sorry I meant Digital. I did however seen people on ticalc having problems with it. Some for instance had it freeze their calc during installation. Well, obviously you can't have clock on HW1 since the chip just doesn't have a clock crystal in it. It's also that many programs for HW2 that are compatible with HW1 did not get updated for AMS 2.08.

btw, do you people think it was a nice idea to have OS's on the site? i just though it would be nice coz when you go onto TI's site it takes like forever to find those and they also drag you thru more than 10 pages...actually, if any of you still have old OS's that would be very nice of you to email/upload a copy of it. some older Ti-83+ OS were actually much faster then new ones and TI-89 ones gave more free RAM.

OS's is a good thing so people can upgrade more easily and test compatability if nescessary.

There are new versions of the OSs for each 68k calcs if you have not heard.

Actually, thanks for letting me know. Last time I've been there was after 16th and yet I didn't really read anything. I'll update our versions of OSs as necessary. Hey, this btw sounds quite newsworthy...

btw, anyone tried the new AMS 2.08 yet? i would expect it to be more compatible and more bug free than first AMS 2.08 but any feedback would be nice. eventually, i'll end up trying it out myself but right now i have not time for this.

Look on the message board on ticalc.org. One person ran a bit to bit or Byte to byte comparison and said that they were identical.

How come you guys haven't added the "new" 2.08 for the 92+/V200 yet?

sorry, i'm very loaded with work and had no time. i already downloaded and zipped new OS's just didn't get to upload them to CG. i'm gonna add them tomorrow (or well, today after i get some sleep). also, in case you don't know OS's don't show up in recent files, so check OS page for updates. in fact, i'll probably end up posting a news article just to keep news alive.

oki, i've added those new OSs. i don't really think TI will start b******g, we afterall even show their license. this software is free and we in no way provide any pirated stuff, only whatever is freely available on the net. i see no particular reason for TI not to like this, besides TI only wanting to distribute OSs from their site. afterall, we're not breaking any laws or anything. and nowhere it says on TI's site OSs can only be downloaded from there. its not like we're distributing ROMs or anything.

you btw B probably want to make a news article saying new AMS was released even if not directly linking to our files you may have a link to OS section. or well, just make a news thing. this is quite some news and our news (and all calc stuff overall) has been pretty slow for months.

Z, both AMS 2.08's are IDENTICAL. there is not an OLD and NEW one, they are the exact same. TI just released it again because they fixed TI-Connect
