I have hed my TI 83+ SE for some time now, and have never had a problem, until now. I was using it and the ram suddenly deleted. I have changed the batteries, changed the backup battery, and nothing works. It still screws up.
I am thinking of writing TI and demanding a new one, but i would rather fix it myself.
Any help you can suggest would be great. Thanks.

Yeah, that does sound rather strange. I'd try BullForg's suggestion first and if it doesn't work write TI. Gl.

Have you tried pulling out a battery, then holding DEL while putting it back in? It always works for me when I have problems. Any further questions can be sent to darksideprogramming@yahoo.com.

I have tried pulling out batteries and all that. My geometry teacher even suggested taking all the batteries and the backup out for about a hour, but that still didnt work

still, an ASM prog can't F up the hardware. reinstall the OS and see what happens. my friend once had a similar problem (i forget what caused it tho), an OS reinstallation solved the roblem.

I've heard of this problem before, but I also heard it can't be fixed, but try the OS install. Someone at our school had the prob and they had to pay TI like $40 to fix it or something like that...

sux, you can get a new calc from eBay for less than $40 :). interestingly enough, i haven't quite figured out the cause of this problem.

At my school, lots of school calcs have mirageOS (illeagaslly) and when your playinng when the batteries are low, you can screw up the calc.

prolly a thing with flash writes on low batteries eh? seems to be the only reasonable thing to me. well, ask TI for a replacement then. maybe they'll be nice and go your way.

Hmm...i know in the past when i've had low batteries it won't let me write to flash.

Try this, press ON+Del, and ON+Clear, if it works u'll get like a screen to load os, or some weird stuff, but when my calculator has been too screwed up to work b4 it has worked.

Yeah, i emailed TI. The sent back and told me to send my calc in. They are going to replace it in warranty. So i get a brand new calc. But im going to get a Voyage 200 soon. Sucks that you cant use them on the SATs.
