i haven't been using old Doors games for awhile. i just got Chrono Fantasy and Integrated Desktop running. now that i have PreOS on my calc, i have decided to get into the good old fun Doors games. for the most part, i have been doing well. i have all the non-doors and doors games running fine. i can't seem to get Street Fighter II running, however. when i thought about it, i realized that even back when kernals where the only ASM option for games, i was never able to get SF2 running. i have an 89 HW2 with AMS 2.08. is this a HW2 problem? or is this an AMS problem? the game extracts the libs it needs from STDLIB and then it just says BUSY and freezes. if anyone can help me get this wonderful calc game running, i would be very grateful.

hey, the only way to get SF2 running is getting a Doors OS. Though, the game was very picky about library versions you have. it also never seemed to work on HW2. there was an unofficial HW2 version released that was working okay with Doors OS. i'll post here if i find my copy. also, i'm unsure if it will run on AMS 2.08. i think it ran on 2.03 and 2.05 (at least that's what i had back then).

The newly released PrOS works practically flawlessly on my HW1 TI-89.
SF2 kept crashing on me,when I had Universal OS. I put PreOS on it, and it lasted longer before crashing, but then I found a way around it - I just had to delete Vega. For some reason, 98% of the games with Vega in it would crash on me. Now it works like a charm (with occasional crashes. Only once so far).
Scrounged the forums, and found the link to its homepage. There you can find the latest version of the game:

Thanks. I got SF2 running just fine using PreOS and SF2AFC. I was able to have all character files running and it hasn't crashed on me yet. Thank you very much.

Perhaps I was a bit hasty saying that SF2AFC runs flawlessly on my 89. I have been playing it for a few days now and it has crashed several times on me. I have everything archived, so it isn't that big of a deal, but I have to install everything all over again every time. That is a pain, but the game still runs without crashing like 70% of the time. I wish someone would continue working on this game to make it more stable, and perhaps smaller. Still, at least I can play something other than Tetris and SMQ all the time, just a warning to people that are about to install the game.

Make a small basic program to run a batch of installers. This way you'll only run one prog and get everyhting installed. Should be rather useful esp with SF2's frequent crashes.

I would also recomend what Z said. The only problem I've had with that is on my V200 ISL won't install propery unless I run it from the home screen.

Glad I could help some.
All you really need to do is run the preos install program again if it crashes. But you could make a small basic program to make an easier to type in name I suppose.

EDIT: I know what you mean about the size. So I can have many other games, I only have 3 characters installed on my calc. But SF2 is definitely worth it.
