Let me be the first to welcome you. The admins and regular members are pretty friendly around here. Unless you try to piss on of us off your always on our "good side".

Okay I need you to answer some questions before I can continue to help you.

1. Do you have any linking software [installed] and an appropriate cable, i.e. TI-Connect w/ the USB cable, or TI-GraphLink with either the Gray or Black cables?

2. Do you already have files/games that you want to put on your calculator? (I have to ask for the sake of asking)

3. In the readme for the games, is there any shell or kernal that is said to be needed to run the game?

If I don't get back to you right away, there are others who can help you the rest of the way.

btw, i would note for that you probably should consult the FAQ webpage that is shown in the opening page to the forums. You probably could answer the basic question of how to get games (since it's probably the most commonly asked question besides, linking related questions)

First of all, welcome to the world of the 89. Second, read the FAQ, like it states on the home page of the forum. Third, there is a tab at the top of the screen titled "Games". Click on that, select the 89 section. Download what you wish. Then unzip 'em, and send them via graphlink to your calc. If you do not know what a graphlink is, or do not have one, you'll need to get the games from a friend or someone who also has an 89.

No problem. Once they're on your calc, you'll need to go into the Var-Link menu to access them. (Or just type them into the command line...)

Hehe, no I'm not an admin. Though I do admit I wouldn't mind... But I'm usually in calculator discussion, yes. I just check the active topics and browse through them till I find one that interests me or something.

Well, if I was made an admin I wouldn't be able to do much. All I do here is post stuff in the forums. So yeah...

Just keep in mind being an admin takes a lot of work.
Work includes time, effort, and skill.

Wait a second. So I'm an admin now or something? Lost me there in the conversation.

Z said to check with me and B. So far I haven't needed much of the admin features but as a convieniece it is nice. Right now I'm leaning toward yes, but I'll hold off my final decision for a couple days, nothing personal.

Do you often find news that you want to post (good news)?

I agree with D, admin features aren't really something I use every day (maybe once a month or two at most). OFten there is good news, but ti-news which is (from it's title) a lot more news-based than we are, and posts a lot of news. I'd rather people go there and read it than post it up re-phrasing it here.

Well, hypothetically speaking, if I did become an admin what would I be required to do?

Is that question about news directed at me, Dig? If so, not really.

Yes it was Bullfrog. Being and admin implicitly requires you to participate in what you can and help other out, basically what your doing now. It also gives you moderator controls which have not been necessary lately since everyone has respect for our boards.

Well, for the news thing, I find some pretty good stuff every now and then. (I post it over at ti-news.com. (Jeremiah Walgren.))
