I am about ready (after all my reasearch) to download multiple games and programs. Should I get MirageOS or ION? Which is better and why? I think this would help me and about 3,000 other gamers. Thx.

ION is the best pick. For some reason when I had MiIRAGE OS, it would clear my RAM for some reason and I would lose some games. MIRAGE OS also need to load up something, I forgot what, and if you have quite a bit of games it will take like a minute or two. ION is much faster (for me).

I like Mirage OS, the reason It erased your programs is you improperly turned off your power (pulling the batteries). I found ION a pain to install

ION is the easiest thing to install, copy it to your calculator and run ION. It'll install and then run A. That simple. And I didn't turn MIRAGE OS off with taking the batteries out or pressing 2nd and ON. So that's not why I lost everything in my RAM.

I have experienced this as well. I have a suspicion that if you ru a BASIC program with MirageOS and you're TIOS versin is over 1.13 (2nd Mem About), it will crash upon exit.

I think MirageOS is better. It takes up more space, but if it crashes, it isn't deleted because it's an app, unlike ION because if it crashes while running you'll need to transfer it again and re-install it. MirageOS also has quite a few customization options, including folders, taskers, key hooks, and archive/unarchive without having to access the memory manage/del menu, among other things. It also gives lowercase lettering and supports nearly all ION programs.

As for the BASIC program support, when it comes to games that I've downloaded it works fine (if any of them are BASIC, I don't know which), but when I try to add the 4 extra lines or so that make up the MirageOS compatibility to my programs it crashes.

You can always keep an archived ION group files so that you can recover from resets. I to be honest never really use Mirage. I prefer ION instead, its fast and best of all small. I have 83+, so these 16kb Mirage takes can be used for something else. I'm not really a big app user anyway coz i prefer conventional programs instead (mostly due to their smaller size). Mirage is still a great shell for those who like lots of options (i dare saying power users...).

Mirage can play more complex games faster, at least that is what I see, ION is difficult to install. Mirage is easier to reach BECAUSE it is an app.

MirageOS is way easier to navigate through,it's also easier to install and send to other people in my humble opinion.
