Edit
Can't find it on my list on TI Connect, and I just got my v200 today so I never thought about the size. It's a giant waste of space. So anyone know what to delete, if I missed it?

Hit [2nd]+[-] (the minus key, not negate). Scroll down untill you see the file. If you see something that lookins like an asteric * next to the file name, highlight the file and press [F1] + [9]. Then scroll down to the file again, highlight it and hit backspace. Hit enter and the file is deleted.

No problem. Good luck to ya. Nice to have someone showing you the stuff. A whole lot quicker to learn things.

You need to install hw2patch or k220xtsr on your calc. You can get the latter from ticalc.org or here.

Or install the newest kernal that supports most of the common kernal fromats. It is called PreOS. You can find it at timetoteam.fr.st

Bullfrog: I'll try those since I have no clue what they are.
Digital: It's not the fact that they don't work (I have preos too and the requirements for the games themself to work), it's just when I exit the game my calc freezes and I am forced to reboot.

What OS do you have? (2.05, 2.08, 2.09...?)

What what game are you using? I would rcomend upgrading to the 2.09 OS. I'll try and get the game to work on my v200 so I can try to help you.

That's the preloaded OS that sometimes comes with v200. TI has release an update very quickly after since 2.07 has problems. Try upgrading to 2.09 EN, you can get the OS from TI download site.
HW2 (k220xtsr is its equivalent that runs on newer OS versions. if i remember right HW2 patch only works with OS versions up to 2.05) patch is an OS hack that unlocks certain features such as breaking the limit of executable programs. You need to have installed for most shells to work.

Yeah, upgrade would help. I saw an experimental hw2patch somewhere for 2.08. I can't remember where... It was probably my imagination.

THe hardware patch is not necessary, or at least does very little good one the v200. I know you guys think that this calc falls in line with the rest but it doesn't. I've run everything just fine oon my calc without the HW2 TSR of HW2 patch. PreOS installs the TSR patchif you use it.

To Z and others: If you don't mind, please consider me the resident V200 expert since I have one and am quite literate on it. There are several issues that do not occur on the other calcs that do on the V200 do to the memory and OS.

Oh, sounds like D's gettin' a little pride there. lol :-P j/k Yeah, you probably should answer the V200 questions since you got one. But there are others that we can answer. Like, how do you send a game to it, or how do you run said game on it, or how do you turn it on...

No matter. In a few months, my birthday time, if all goes well I'll have one too! I hope I do end up getting one. I think it'd be sweet. Walk into math, sit down, watch everyone pull out their 83's and 86's, then pull out my V200 and plunk it on my desk. Hehe, that'd be fun.

*Looks around* I don't see anyone with pride *sees a mirror* never mind ;). THe V200is great and I don't think I can ever stop enjoying the looks on peoples faces when I pull it out and tell them it is a calculator. Conventional stuff is like transfering games etc is free for everyone, but kernals and certain TSRs etc. I have the experience with and know what will/might work etc. For example, the calculator gets unstable if you install FastKeys via a BASIC program (Prgm:main\fastkeys():EndPrgm), but if it is from the Home Screen, only those who have a V200 could know that.

What other differences are there with the V200? (From an 89 user perspective, if you can.)

Certain TSRs make the calc unstable if they are installed before others, ISL and Fastkeys fight and crash the calc (probably the same on the other calcs do to the new features of ISL), a HW2 patch of anykind is unecessary, if a game wont run there are three on-calc methods to fixing it if you don't have access to the source code to re-compile it, it has about 20 KB less RAM available which make large programs such as CF very dificult to run, the shortcuts for common functions are very similar if not the same as on the 92+ (took a while to find out what they were), some games will not run even though they should. That is all I can think of right now. TSRs kernals and on-calc ASM manipulation are the key things.

Well, Kerno has the same feature as fastkeys doesn't it? Increasing the repeat rate I believe...

I had an idea. Maybe a panel of calculator specialists could be created to answer certain questions about different calculators. Like Digital for example could be the resident expert on the V200. Just an idea though...

That sounds like a good idea for all BullFrog. I personally don't use Kerno because I never have. I usually use TICT-Explorer which gets the job done just as well I assume. I think I might try Kerno out this week end to see if it provides any benefits over my surrent setup.
