Is taht with it on or off? Try pulling out the batteries on the 86 for a few seconds, and see if you can get the RAM to reset. It sounds like an ASM program gone wrong that's crashed the system. Also, try holding [ON] and Delete or Clear, which sometimes can help with resets (not sure if it works on the 86, I've only used an 86 twice, but it can't do any harm)

I know whats wrong.

I did that before to my old 83, I dropped it and it broke. It's broke dude, nothing you can do to fix it. Unless spiral's thing didn't work I'm sorry.

Try reseting everything to "default", just reset everything-a calculator that works is better than a broken calc without games!

Yeah, unless the warranty is still good, you've lost a few hundred pixels of screen resolution. That happened to my friend's 83+, he got two lines across the screen. That just means that part of the screen broke. Did you drop it?

A program shouldn't be able to permamentally screw up a LCD screen. Actually, I take that back, some purposly overload your LCD...but only if the screen is being tweaked for a long time will it actually hurt it.

Those colors programs seriously mess with your lcd... I tried one, once. All ti did was clear my ram, but I gather I was forutnate. But programs won't do what he's describing. You probably dropped it, or it got squished in your bookbag.

I tried that blue lcd prog on my old 83. It was kewl.
Try calling TI and see what they'd say. I knew some people who got their screen replaced for free by TI (they had a similar problem), so who knows maybe you'll get lucky.

did you try taking out the backup battery, main batteries, and letting it sit for a few hours too?
