Edit: I'd recommend MirageOS for your shell if you're just beginning, but that's personal preference. Other people will probably tell you differently, but ultimately it's up to you and what you want.

Total Posts: 2486 | yeah, basically the best choices for a shell are ION and MirageOS. get Mirage if you prefer lots of feats and easy installation but 16KB size. get ION if you'd rather not have any feats except the program launcher but have the program be under 2KB so you can stick more games. though, with 83+ SE i'd also recommend you go with Mirage. you can download either of these shells from the Programs->TI-83+/SE section.
