1) You can't run prgmMARIO from the home screen. you must have a shell installed, namely ION, and run it from it's menu.
2) The ERR:Archived message means the program is in archive memory, not the RAM (random access memory). Programs must be in the RAM to run. Although MirageOS (another shell) bypasses that by unarchiving the program when you run it and re-archiving it when you don't
3) Please read the Readme file that comes with the MARIO program, it should have explained all this. If not, feel free to send the creator a flaming e-mail (just kidding, don't do that.)

you need to download and install a shell such as ION or MirageOS. make sure you send all the ION files or the group (.8xg) to your calc. DON'T ARCHIVE anything yet. when done run program ION to install the shell and then you'll need to run program A to get into the shell interface. you will need to keep ION unarchived but you can arhive the games. keep a copy of ION group archived in case your calc resets so that you can easily restore your stuff. you can also use MirageOS instead of ION. Mirage is an app so it's always archived. download Mirage from our Programs->TI-83+/SE section (use the search if you can't find it). anyway, if you still get stuck you can post back and we'll try to help you out.

EDIT: sorry, didn't read the ION part of your message. to install ION, transfer the ION group to your calc via your cable, it should have 3 programs:1)prgmION 2)prgmIONZ and 3)prgmZMINFO. run program ION from the home screen, and it should say:
"Ion Installed
Done"
from there you should see two new programs in your list: prgmA and prgm[theta]ION. Run prgmA and run Mario from the list there. Also, don't make the mistake i made and forget to send levels to your calc. send the nagel.8xp prog to your calc; that's the first level and mario won't run w/out it.BTW, the reason this isn't on my old message is because it took me so long to post that Z posted somethin first
