My math teacher told us the other day that Mirage OS will mess up operating systems and change some parameters, he also said that having it on your calculator will void the warranty. Is this true?

Thanks

Your math teacher is not telling the truth. It will change some stuff, yes, but not affect you calculator in any way you'll notice. (Besides the fact to run games).

And it will not void the warranty.

it doesn't void your warranty, I think the only way you can void it is if you open up the case. Some warrantees can be voided by changing the OS, but MirageOS doesn't change that either.

I think the warranty thing is bs, but I know from xp that Mirage is capable of messing your system up. I wouldn't recommend OS 1.16 for those of you w/ a 83+se; it screwed mine up

Hmm, your teacher is either not very bright or just a liar. Heh...

Any ASM program can mess your system either through malacious intent or bugs, nothing new.

i know this...
However, the combo of Mirage 1.1 and TIOS 1.16 was fatal for my calc. I had never had this bad of a problem before.

Actualy, Mirage can change some small features in the OS. For example, you can use it to enable lower case in the OS without a shell running.
