Total Posts: 25 | My one friend has a regular TI-83 calculator, but doesn't have the USB cable to get games from the internet. So I tried putting some regular 83 games on my calc from the internet and then giving them to him. They didn't work. Why is this? Is it because even though its for a regular 83 (which doesn't have apps) they are automatically programmed to play in my MirageOS or something? So basically my question is, is it possible for me to put 83 games on my TI-84+SE, run them from Programs, then give them to my friend on his TI-83. Thanks for all your help! |

Total Posts: 2486 | Hey, obviously MirageOS games won't work on 83 since it doesn't have flash. ION games made for 83 will work as well as regular asm games. You should generally be able to put them onto a 83+ or 84x and then send them to a 83. You'll also need to send him an 83 version of ION shell. These files once copied onto the 83 from your 84 should work. Also, make sure you ungroup ION on your calc and send your fried the ungrouped files. Some asm games can be run w/t a shell with a command Send(9 prgmPROGNAME (my syntax could be off, there might have been a comma after 9). Hope that helps.

Edit | If memory serves, you can send data from the 83 to the 83+/84+, but not from the 83+/84+ to the 83. I have not been sucessful at it, but I do not know if that is a software issue or not. |
