You've got to be kidding. Well, there is Punix for the 92+, but don't expect any *nix for a z80. Punix Project Page

If a basic program that doesn't do anything count as an OS, then yes, you're correct.

Well, we could discuss this for hours, but there really is no such thing as an OS for a calc. Just shells.

Actually, there is a full fledged OS for the TI-89, PedroM.

Well, lets not call it full fledged but its an OS (comand prompt only with a few features). Either way, if someone was to finish it then something cool may happen and we'd have an alternative to TIOS. As of now, its only good for running programs and cool thing, you won't need any kernel and you get to use nearly 240kb or ram. I guess someone who only uses their calc for games and some really basic math would find this OS beneficial but in general, its only good as a tech thing saying that this is possible rather than something all of us would actually find useful.

Speaking of linux and that sort of thing, has anyone ever tried Knoppix? Its linux on cd and cool thing is that you don't need to install it. Its free and good to have in case your computer hdd or os get hosed.
