PogoDaMonkey Dragoon Posted: 13 May 2005 07:16 GMT Total Posts: 72 | Since Andy locked the topic, i didnt have time to ask how you would go about dumping the ROM from your cartridge, going on the fact i have no software that would be able to send/recieve it, or a device that could even plug into the cart.
Figures when i ask omething, the topic gets locked by Admin =/

There are ROM dumper kits available on the internet which you can purchase and make backup of your original carts. Search Google to find out more details. You can expect to pay around $100-200 for a good ROM dump kit and they will usually work with only onte type of carts. Please don't carry any further ROM discussions on our public forums.

Just buy an old console on eBay if you'd like to play the classic games, you'll enjoy it a lot more that way. This is meant to be informative not anal from our admin side, please understand that.

TI Freak Probe Posted: 17 May 2005 08:41 GMT Total Posts: Edit | Not to encourage any illegal issues, but google is your friend. I had to locate a rom 1.12 for vti that way... |

However, TI does not want other websites to server the ROM images and reasons are their own. Personally, I don't like the new ROMs and don't know what I would have done coz TI only serves the latest version.

Andy Administrator Posted: 18 May 2005 08:20 GMT Total Posts: 939 | TI doesn't have the ROM images, just the OS upgrade files. There is a distinct difference. The ROM images have the boot page in them as well as the OS. The OS upgrade files don't have the boot page. (Or the certificate page for that matter, but the ROM images can't read them so they're just junk.) |

Posted: 18 May 2005 21:15 GMT Total Posts: 2007 | So you're saying you could manufacture a ROM (were it not illegal) out of an OS and a boot page template? |
Andy Administrator Posted: 18 May 2005 21:51 GMT Total Posts: 939 | Probably. I've not tried it, nor do I really want to. No need. |

Andy Administrator Posted: 19 May 2005 09:21 GMT Total Posts: 939 | Only the 89 and 92+ ROM update files work in VTI. The 83+ ones do not. |
