JcCorp Probe Posted: 5 Jul 2005 13:56 GMT Total Posts: Edit | Interesting... I may want to use that site, it's really cool.
And it doesn't matter if you get 100 people to sign it, I doubt they would leave anyways. |

KermMartian Marine Posted: 5 Jul 2005 14:37 GMT Total Posts: 29 | OK, posted frontpage Cemetech news about this:http://cemetech.designerz-core.com/news.shtml?151. TI-Freak8x first PMed me to alert me too it, and at least 5 Cemetech members have spoken out against them so far. |
Andy Administrator Posted: 5 Jul 2005 14:49 GMT Total Posts: 939 | I'm not going to go as far as post front-page news here -- I considered it for a minute and decided against it. If any of the other admins or SCMs wish to do so, by all means do so. I just don't think it's quite that important. (at least, it's not something we should be advertising on our front page -- "hey we utterly despise you, have a nice day kthx".) |

JumptheGun Dragoon Posted: 5 Jul 2005 16:23 GMT Total Posts: 56 | I'm wonder if anyone else think that Hays Games is going into hiding only to resurface again? |
KermMartian Marine Posted: 5 Jul 2005 16:31 GMT Total Posts: 29 | Go into hiding? I severely doubt they'll even disappear at all, even with the 100+ sigs. |
Andy Administrator Posted: 5 Jul 2005 16:36 GMT Total Posts: 939 | It's still worth a shot... Now, if we can find some way to legally force them to adhere to their word (unlikely)... That'd be awesome. :) Someone might want to get a copy of their front page notorized asap. |
JcCorp Probe Posted: 5 Jul 2005 17:22 GMT Total Posts: Edit | Y'know what? I've heard the full thing, finally. May I ask why he/they isn't/aren't banned?
Holy crap, there are 60+ things already... Hays has swallowed a lot more than he can stomach. |
TI Freak Probe Posted: 5 Jul 2005 17:45 GMT Total Posts: Edit | Well, I signed the petition, number 70... |
JumptheGun Dragoon Posted: 5 Jul 2005 17:48 GMT Total Posts: 56 | Funny 70+ on the first day
Hays is going down :lol_a: |
Andy Administrator Posted: 5 Jul 2005 18:18 GMT Total Posts: 939 | Jc, "they". Used in quotations as I'm not actually sure if there is more than one person to it.
As for not banning them, they haven't done anything to deface the forums (to my knowledge) (unlike some people)... So no point. We can always just reject the files. Of course, what with guest submissions that might not be as easy as it sounds. |

Oh, that sorta reminds me of cleansing the world of CalculatorFreak's website which was fun. I got Yahoot to shut it down on a couple of hours after my nice letter. :)

greenorange Goliath Posted: 6 Jul 2005 05:45 GMT Total Posts: 199 | Even though I never tried Hays "software" I signed anyway. I think that "they" are really one, as I cannot understand why such horrid BASIC programs require more than one person to code (dont see how that can even be efficient)... but if it's true they stole code, I think ticalc should simply remove their programs from the archives, and they should only advance as far as their idiotic Geocities page...
EDIT: OK, I guess there were more than one person at one time running the freak show: 1999 ticalc newsletter

BullFrog Wraith Posted: 6 Jul 2005 17:30 GMT Total Posts: 623 | If this doesn't work, ignore them. If whoever is behind Hays or whatever sees that they no longer get attention for what they're doing, they'll most likely stop. I do like Xero Xcape's comment, though, about how someone is only present if they're paid attention to... Not entirely true, but it works.

Posted: 6 Jul 2005 20:28 GMT Total Posts: 2486 | I know that petition is meaningless but its a fun way to show how people dislike Hays. :) 128 votes so far! Even if their site gets kicked off Geocities, they can always go and put it up somewhere else if they decide to. Oh well... As with attention, petitioning actually brings them more attention, even if not very good.
Number went to 140 in about an hour. This is freaky...

haysgames Marine Posted: 6 Jul 2005 22:28 GMT Total Posts: 20 | fun fact: hays has not 'pirated' a calculator program in over six years. hays has never seeked to profit off of someone elses work. for the last several years hays has kept its head up and taken the high ground while countless community haters have attempted to bash it into the ground.
no big deal, just think about the facts. and good luck with the petition. |

greenorange Goliath Posted: 7 Jul 2005 07:53 GMT Total Posts: 199 | Yea I noticed that, considering it couldnt be a name of a person, otherwise it would be Hay's or Hays' games. But then again, mirroring Bill Nagels idea was a pretty idiotic thing to mention :-/ |

TI Freak Probe Posted: 9 Jul 2005 14:43 GMT Total Posts: Edit | I agree with you. You can find some real amusing things about them on Ed Fry's site though... :) http://fryedsoft.calc.org |
haysgames Marine Posted: 9 Jul 2005 16:20 GMT Total Posts: 20 | lol this is the last post from hays on this forum, don't bother attempting to get a response from us.
Again i would like to urge calcgames.org to delete our account and our files from your archive. We have sent a similar e-mail request to the archivers at ticalc.org.
To the people who think we are coming back, please give it a rest. In the long run you are only making a fool out of yourselves. The popular parody group 'hays games company' is over, just let it die. what was posted at our site is true, if you don't want to believe it or if lieing to yourself makes you feel better tho, be my guest. doesn't bother me any.
it might be hard for somebody to accept that a group that they believed to be a true band of ignorant code stealers has really been pulling a prank over their eyes for seven years. we even put as a disclaimer at the bottom of all our sites that it was simply a joke, but it's really not a big deal. you can either live with hate or you can accept the fact and move on with your lives. why let something that was a joke get the better of you, it just doesn't make sense.
Ed Fry seems to be everyone's hero because of his amusing article. But I am sure Ed has the common sense to know the joke is over.
Oh well, just my two cents. If you wanted us to go away, we are. If you wanted closure, we attempted to give closure via the petition. If you want us to come back just so you have something to hate because you are not satisfied with yourself, then I'm sorry but am unable to help you there. try finding god and the good lord jesus christ, they really help.
I am only posting because i think it's sad how some people are not able to let go. some people think we 'hurt' the community when they are the ones trying to keep this thing alive.
so again, just let it die, and i urge the calcgames.org staff to help put this thing to rest once and for all by closing our account and deleting our files. probably should lock this thread too. its over kids, sorry.

JcCorp Probe Posted: 9 Jul 2005 17:02 GMT Total Posts: Edit | What is harder for me to accept is the fact that someone would want to play a joke so sick on a whole group of people, even innocent bystanders. Would you kidnap a small child and put his parents through all of the worry? Well, maybe that metaphor is a little too extreme, but a lot of people still won't forgive you.
By the way, I'm sure many members of this community will be glad not to hate anyone. I know I am glad that there are decent people here, and that the few people that would actually pick fights are at least smart about it and know when to apologize and forgive. You, however, have lied and cheated up the mountain of your infamy, and have learned this all too late. I was glad I wasn't really around when you were at your "prime". I hope your conscience bothers you. As for me, well, I don't know you personally, so I can't hate any of you, but anyways, I can hate your actions.
I really wish you would read this, but I know you probably never will see this. |
