I'm using a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition and I have recently cleared the RAM and Archive. Now whenever I try to transfer files onto my calculator with TI Connect I recieve the message "Access is denied. (80070005)." In addition, I can no longer take screenshots or interact with the calculator in any way via TI Connect. Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks.

Yes, restart your computer. Do it with the menu, don't just push the button on the front. We don't really know why it says this, but it does.

I'm having the same problem too. What should I do if none of the above suggestion are working for me?

Try using a different USB port and always make sure that the cable is secure at both ends.

If that doesn't work you'll have to get a serial cable and use TI-GraphLink.

LISTEN UP EVERYONE -- I FOUND OUT THE ANSWER
Ti-Connect is incredibly stupid. It will not allow you to transfer files to your calculator unless you are running the latest operating system on your calculator. For me, as soon as I upgraded to 2.55 mp for TI-84+, everything worked perfectly.
The reason that when you reboot w/o internet connection and it works fine is that TI-Connect always connects to the internet upon boot-up to check if you are running the latest OS. Don't ask me why. It's either a blindingly stupid bug, or a stupendously short-sighted feature.
Tell all your friends.

If you're correct, that's really evil.

I was thinking it the opposite way with 2.55 mp. Never had a problem until I put 2.55 mp on and now I am getting the message. Apparently it's not a 2.55 issue.

This is probably a huge necro from a new poster, but I'd like to say that I recently came across this issue when using a school-issued TI-84 Plus. After a ton of tinkering, I finally got mine to work with the program without issue. Word caught around school, though, and now I'm being solicited to put games on calculators, which isn't a big deal, other than I have to do through a huge shut-down/start-up without internet process. Rather than do this 5-6 times, I remembered a program that I have on my computer already called Sandboxie. Originally designed for potentially malicious programs and website browsing, Sandboxie can block internet access to any application (if you set it to do so). What this means in a nut-shell is that I (and you, if you so choose) can run TI Connect and block its access to any outside resources, allowing me to file transfer, back-up, etc. to any calculator regardless of version. Sandboxie has a free-version with very few restrictions (it's what I use), so if you're having this problem, check out Sandboxie.

Its easy, no struggle with any operating systems.

in steps:

* Remove usb
* Disable internet connection
* Restart pc
* Plug usb back in (send file)
* Enable internet connection again

Works 100% of times.
