Just so people don't ask, here is a list of good games for your calculator.

83+/83+SE/84+/84+SE
These games require MirageOS to run. It can be found under "Misc: Shells"
Super Mario
Phoenix/Galaxian
Space Station Pheta (my personal favorite)
Pac-Man 99
Lotus Turbo Challenge

These games can be run directly from the Programs menu. They are written in BASIC and therefor are slower and less graphical. However, they are still fun.
A Dot RPG
Age of Darkness Series
Bob Game
Final Fantasy: TOM and TOM2 (note, will not work at ALL on a regular 83+)
Illusiat series
Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Metroid Pure
Reuben Quest 1 and 2
XXR

89/89T

You will often have to install a kernel to play some of these games, but I do not know what you will need to do for each game. Please read the README file that comes with the file for installation instructions.

Arena3D
BlockMan
BomberMaze68k
ChronoFantasy
Galaxian/Phoenix
Jezzball
Kirby
Tankers

I don't know anything about the BASIC games for the 89, so try them for yourself.

Since we're on the subject, let the shameless self-promotion begin!

Over my week-long vacation I made a fairly good Space Invaders game. I wouldn't have mentioned it, but every "Space Invaders" I found on ticalc turned out to be a sad little embodiment of patheticness (one-on-one duels and such).

Tell me how my version ranks, I guess. It should be up here in a few days.

Hey! Thanks for the mentions 3fg! Wow, didn't think anyone still played A Dot RPG ^.^ (even after I updated it) and in my opinion Metroid Pure is a much better rendition of Metroid

Can you do sticky topics in teemz? Because this would be a good one to set as a sticky, or even as a FAQ entry.

No, and this is a customized version of teemz, so i'm sure someone could add it if they had the time and patience.

If any mods think a game deserves to be on the list, add it. I haven't played all of the games, so I couldn't tell you if they are all fun or not.

what pisses me off is the fact that mario refuses to show up on mirage. all my other games show up, including mario edit, but not mario. i unarchive the game, unarchive the levels, reinstall mirage, reinstall mario, redownload mario and reinstall.... and i still cant play. buggers.

I recall Contra 83 being one of the better BASIC games I've played.

ugh... contra 83 was much too lagish too play, and i kept getting errors. nothing to do with my fault, i was the programmer, and they didnt thing about some situations with certain data... well, it was a mess, and the hit detection annoyed me... i always died when i knew i would've been alive.

I recall never ever having any issue with Contra 83+ (the finished version) ever.

As for games that I feel should be added to the list.

83+BASIC
Reign of Legends 1, 2, and 3

83+ASM
zDOOM

68k
Arena 3d (and someone should load Oblivion here too)

contra can be added to the list, but i protest Doom. its hit detection is so bad... i mean come on, the enemy can shoot through the walls. you want a good shooter game? a good one is Wolfenstein. that is one of the best shooter games with so many enimies, light changes (dark rooms and light rooms) and level editor. another good shooter is Gemini. its the best there is, but takes up all your memory. Doom is just wireframe, while wolfenstein and gemini has indepth graphics.

Arena3D is already on there, but I have no idea what Oblivion is. Also, what is the concensus on Contra and Wolfenstein?

sure, making a sticky is easy... just edit the forum database and put a large number in the time slot :)

I vote wolfenstein83, too. Also I vote Gemini, because it's like wolfenstein only with different weapons, and it's easier to see in some cases, because it's not brick walls (monochrome brick walls and 3D don't get along)

Well then, ask the new global mods to put them on the list, I'm sure they'd be happy to flex their new powers.

@allyn: Doesn't that require alot of work and access to the db, which only you and z (and b, I guess) have?

I would stil put zDOOM on there, simply because while it is wireframe, if you look at the original release date, it is ahead of it's time, muchly.

I also like Gemeni, but is lacks in our archives?

And Oblivion is a Sci-Fi FPS that Malcom Smith made (he made Arena3D too ;)) that I MUCH rather to Arena3D, simply because it had full levels, items, and more than just a rocket launcher!

Since only zDOOM is not a good game (imo) and the rest aren't in our archives, I won't put it on the list.
