you need to lock them, either with an asm prgm or Mirage.

That's what locking is, though anyone so inclined can just as easily unlock them.

Then is their a way to make them so they don't appear in MirageOS but still dissappear when you go to edit them?

I don't understand--why would you want to lock a BASIC program? It's so easy to circumnavigate.

there is a prgm called (un)lock in ticalc.org that will lock or unlock any prgm, BASIC or not. Your BASIC prgm doesnt need to be able to show up in Mirage for this prgm to affect it.

This is usually to escape what some call...
"The Newb Line Clear"
Where someone accidentally or intentionally looks at the code of your program... and tries to press CLEAR to get out...
AND YOU CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT THE HECK THAT LINE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!!

I mean when you're developing the program yourself.

3fg: The other programs mentioned work just as well, although Codex, IIRC, is easier to use.

Mirage does not work "just as well" because it then requires you to run the program from Mirage to play it since he can no longer remove the header. CalcSys works though.
