PhilosopherEd Goliath Posted: 2 May 2004 16:18 GMT Total Posts: 134 | Part 5 in the series is taking too long to load now. In case you were wondering, the end of the last thread was discussing Zootch's age, television, and Invader Zim (strange combo, eh?) I suppose we could keep going on that or try something new, like the NBA Playoffs! The Pacers will beat everyone this year, hands down. |

PhilosopherEd Goliath Posted: 3 May 2004 04:37 GMT Total Posts: 134 | the indiana pacers had the best record in the league this year under coach rick carlisle and gm larry bird. with defensive player of the year, ron artest, should-be-mvp jermaine o neal, and veteran reggie miller, they can't lose. |

everyone knows it's gonna be kevin garnett.
and no, the pacers will not win. Look at the teams they played the most (eastern teams)... the only reason their record was that high was because they played against the worst half of the NBA 4 times and the better half only twice.
whoever wins the lakers/spurs series will go on to win it all.

PhilosopherEd Goliath Posted: 3 May 2004 13:39 GMT Total Posts: 134 | dude, their combined record against the west was far above .600 . and although jermaine o neal did not win, he should've. the pacers have proved through the entire season that they're the team to beat, and nobody is giving them props. the days of the western conference titles are over. this year, the pacers shall rule. |

You remind me of my friend's mom, she's in her late 30s but she has the mentality of a twelve year old, and she loves Invader Zim. The last time I went to her house she was blasting- yes, blasting- the Doom song. She also listnes to Korean pop music. A strange combo. |

PhilosopherEd Goliath Posted: 5 May 2004 04:52 GMT Total Posts: 134 | historically more teams win from the west than those from the west. san antonio and l.a. both have decent teams, but none can compare with the skill and versatility of the indiana pacers. i guarantee a win no matter who they play in the finals. |

I don't think you get it PhilEd, The West is naturally better than the East, that's all there is to it. The Pacers cannot and will not win in the final round. If there wasn't the rule that the finals must be an east team versus a west team, there would always be two west teams in the finals. BTWW, good point Zootch, lol. |

you seem to be wrapped up in the last four or five years of the finals, completely ignoring the past. have you forgotten about the reign of the boston celtics? and not even 10 years ago was the reign of the bulls. the pacers are about the be the next team for the books, whether you like it or not. |

Jayhawk Dragoon Posted: 10 May 2004 22:42 GMT Total Posts: 80 | The Spurs are looking like the best team right now. They're my pick to win it all. The Lakers are a mess and I don't see them getting their act together in time. After the season, Gary Payton and Kobe are likely to walk. I'm not convinced the loss of Kobe is going to be disastrous; Kareem Rush is a better guard than he gets credit for. The loss of Payton will hurt more. And I don't see any team from the East that has what it takes to beat the Spurs. |

perhaps you didn't hear me the first million times. the spurs will beat the lakers in seven (as redux said). they will eventually win the west. the pacers, who will kick the crap out of the heat and then the pistons, will proceed to beat the spurs. this is not some kind of prediction, blahblah. IT WILL HAPPEN IN EXACTLY THIS WAY! you seem to be saying something, but all i can hear is the blahblah!!!
ps- PACERS!!!! |

RESULT: The Earthquake will win the NCAA.

And as it was written, so it shall happen. All who dare to oppose shal be smitten in any bets they place to the contrary..." Check it out at your local library, its all there in black and white ;) |
