Hi, I have a ti-84+ calculator with me that is over two years and the one of the button on the number pad had become insensitive. Is it possible to take apart the calculator and repair it by getting some spare parts and replace the faulty components?

Also, I would like to ask how can one take out the board of the ti-calculator after opening up the calculator. I tried lifting it up after removing the tape at the top but there seems to be still something attaching the board to the case.

would be grateful for any help.

Well by opening it you void the warranty, but I'm guessing you've already done that. I doubt that you'll be able to find spare parts since it's basically a solid-state machine. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the actual hardware so you might want to get on IRC and ask. The #tcpa channel on EFNet is more likely to have someone who can help. If you don't have an IRC client you can use http://chat.efnet.org to get easy access. If no one answers be patient and just stick around for a while.

Or you can download opera to access IRC. To be honest you can't replace buttons, they are on the actual calculator. Now if you crack it open and find that it is the white plastic part is the cause then it is replaceable.

It is much easier to suggest solutions when you know nothing about the problem.

Opera's IRC client kind of sucks, but it is the best browser.
