MrMan Probe Posted: 10 Jul 2007 02:01 GMT Total Posts: 2 | What would an overclocked TI-89T in a TI-83's case be worth do you guys think? I know this doesn't have anything to do with games, but finding a calculator forum is hard.
Also, on this forum here I just learned about this new TI-Nspire. When is that comming out? Also, does it have all the same functionality of the TI-89s (by that I mean the 3D graphing)? I doubt the same programs from the TI-89Ts would work as is, but would they be easially convertable? It claims that you can use it on the SAT, ACT, and AP exams, is this really true? If so, what about it makes it so that you can use it on the ACT, but not a TI-89/T? |

The TI-Nspire is supposed to come out very soon. The announcement said that it would be ready before back-to-school time.

MrMan Probe Posted: 10 Jul 2007 19:47 GMT Total Posts: 2 | I was actually thinking I was going to put one together, however, after I take the ACT, I won't have much of a use for it, and I want to make sure I can recoup the costs of having to buy both a TI-83, and an 89T, and only end up with 1 calculator. I could put the 83 in the 89 case, but it probably wouldn't sell very well. I searched around and was personally unable to find one. |

I got a 35 on the math section with a TI-85. It's a pretty simple and easy test.

If you depend on it to solve answers then you are seriously hurting yourself. Learn the "hard" stuff that really isn't that hard. And take the test, using the calc as you need it. It saves time, effort, and self esteem.

In that case, if you really want to mod it, you have to consider a few things.
1. You're going to void the warantee. So if it breaks, you're screwed out of a very nice calculator.
2. Overclocking a calc may just make games unplayable and ruin other features (such as animated graphs.)
Still, if you're not too concerned about such things, then go right ahead.

Besides, warranties? Bah... they only exist to tell you "void me". |

How is TI with their replacement plans, anyways?

"If you use any device that is not manufactured by Nintendo with this product, this warranty is void." "If you alter this device in any way, this warranty is void." "If you take this device apart and put it back together again without changing anything, we will find out, and we will void the warranty." "If it has been two years since you purchased this product, this warranty is void, void, VOID!" "If you put anything on this product, such as a sticker or a custom paint job, this warranty is void."
AND THE BIG ONE...
"If you open this product to change game discs, only to find that the disc currently inserted is still spinning, then SORRY, that voids the warranty, you forfeit the rest of the warranty."
