JcCorp Probe Posted: 25 Feb 2005 11:32 GMT Total Posts: Edit | Hmm... I trying Firefox now... I don't seem to like it much, it doesn't have the nice custom scrollbars IE has... the site did seem to load up quicker though. Any special features I should know about? |

Morgan Ultralisk Posted: 25 Feb 2005 14:45 GMT Total Posts: 321 | Check out al the extensions available. I just did yesterday and found a few that were of great interest to me. You can also get a new theme if you don't like the look. https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/?application=firefox
It has a wicked Add Blocker that you can even stp the yahoo adds from coming up and a gmail notifier built in. I just switched to their RSS reader as well.
Oh and it shows my local weather and current temp :-) there is just a plethora of extensions that I am sure you will find useful. |

korkow Ultralisk Posted: 26 Feb 2005 10:39 GMT Total Posts: 465 | The only thing I truly dislike about firefox is that you can't use the little scroller thing on your mouse that lets you easily scroll up and down pages. |
greenorange Goliath Posted: 26 Feb 2005 11:55 GMT Total Posts: 199 | I probably would be less inclined to use Firefox if the scroll wouldnt work. Do you mean this forum doesn't scroll on your mouse, because mine seems to work. Maybe you didn't set the driver up correctly? It might be Firefox's fault, but it could be something else...

JcCorp Probe Posted: 26 Feb 2005 16:05 GMT Total Posts: Edit | It actually works for me sometimes. |
BullFrog Wraith Posted: 26 Feb 2005 18:09 GMT Total Posts: 623 | You might have to click on the area you want to scroll... That's sometimes a problem for me.

You have to pay for Opera? I thought there was a free version or something...

spiral Wraith Posted: 28 Feb 2005 23:56 GMT Total Posts: 958 | the scrolling wheel on my mouse works fine. The only thing that annoys me a little about firefox is that sometimes Mozilla browser is faster for some stuff. Also, the menus are incredibly dumbed-down, so for some options you have to type about: config into the url bar to access it. But the add-ons are amazing. |
Racer9 Probe Posted: 3 Mar 2005 13:25 GMT Total Posts: 13 | All you have to do is have the mouse over where you want to scroll. I think that is neat. What extensions do you people have? |

You have to go to Tools>Options>Advanced>Browesing and click the last two.
I've been using firefox for a few months now, and I would never think of going back to IE. Tabbed browsing is by far easier and better. |
Andy Administrator Posted: 16 Mar 2005 08:17 GMT Total Posts: 939 | I personally prefer Opera in Windows too... But I think the Linux version of Opera just doesn't look right, so I use FireFox there. I should install FireFox in XP and try it here again... But I just like the colors of Opera and the handy side bar. |
