Register Probe Posted: 3 Aug 2005 16:31 GMT Total Posts: 3 | Does anybody here loathe the Red Sox as much as I do? It seems to me that there are 1,000 times more Red Sox hats and shirts around than before they won the World Series. I figure that 99% of people who claim to be Red Sox fans are idiots. They hate the Yankees, so they find a good excuse to like the Red Sox who have always been losers till a little less than a year ago. So here's my point. Unless you're from Massachussets and you like the "BoSox", you're a bandwagon fan with no life. Cheers!

JcCorp Probe Posted: 3 Aug 2005 16:44 GMT Total Posts: Edit | I've been a sox fan since I knew what baseball was, so I'm not a "bandwagon" fan. I just root for the underdog. Oh, and I hate Yankees too. Don't like NY at all. Oh, and I live very close to Mass. |

Register Probe Posted: 4 Aug 2005 12:03 GMT Total Posts: 3 | Just because somebody hates the Yankees, it doesn't give them a free pass to ride the bandwagon. Plus, since when have the Red Sox been the underdog? They have the 2nd highest payroll in baseball. They're just Yankee wannabees and not even close to 26 championships. BoSox suck along with any fan who likes them because they hate the Yankees. |
JcCorp Probe Posted: 4 Aug 2005 12:08 GMT Total Posts: Edit | Boston is an underdog because they've only won once in the last... whenever years. (I'm not a serious fan, just a "happy to see them win fan".) Payroll simply means that they are popular, not really good.
The Yankees come from NY. I don't care how good they are, I refuse to support a team that comes from that place. Yeeeuuk. Massachusetts is a lot better. Trust me, I've been to both.
And no, I don't follow baseball, so don't try to confound me with all your statistics and whatnot. I like the sox cuz they are my home team. Besides, no one likes the yankees fans at my school. :P |
spiral Wraith Posted: 5 Aug 2005 01:38 GMT Total Posts: 958 | baseball is sooo sloooow. Knowing the final score is usually more than enough for me. |
greenorange Goliath Posted: 5 Aug 2005 07:47 GMT Total Posts: 199 | Well, I am a Red Sox fan (I have been since I was very small when I immigrated to Mass) but I dont like baseball too much. I take Spirals view of just knowing the final score. Football is more entertaining for me :D Not liking people who jump on the bandwagon is natural, just realize that there are people who didnt jump on the bandwagon, and that there opinions should be respected.
[EDIT] And I still live im Mass, though I can tell you it is not the best state to live in.

Register Probe Posted: 5 Aug 2005 21:01 GMT Total Posts: 3 | i'm from texas but i've lived in California. I have to say that california is MUCH better than texas. all the hot chicks live there and all the money happens to be there. forget oil, flat land and fat people (since houston is the fattest city in america). plus california has in-n-out. case closed. ps, the dumb "bosawks" suck. |

Also, money is fairly plentiful out here, but houses are horrendously expensive. I, actually, live right next to Atherton, which is the richest zip code in america, and you can't find a house there for under $2 million! Granted, my house didn't cost nearly as much, but you get the point. About the girls, though, we do have some of the finest specimens in the world, and you can bet that I bask in that knowledge every day :) . |
greenorange Goliath Posted: 6 Aug 2005 07:15 GMT Total Posts: 199 | Of course, I would understand how anyone who favored a certain baseball team would hate their rivals. In Massachusetts, you would be suprised of how people treat the Red Sox (even after the World Series)... They use them as a kinda joke for heartbreakers and letdowns, because they always come close to winning, but never actually get there. Of course, I dont really follow baseball, but I never heard the Red Sox referred to as "BoSox"... its usually just "Sox" for short :-P
@Lunchbox: Ya I am a Patriots fan, for obvious reasons again :D Theyve been doing real good the last couple years, though they were kinda a letdown like the Sox were a while before, kinda like when they lost the Super Bowl... but then again, being a true fan of any team should not waver if they lose or win - so I kinda share Register's view of the "bandwagon" thing. |

The Cornhuskers rock, even though the new coach, whatever his name is, completely changed the Husker offense from power running to West Coast. |
Jayhawk Dragoon Posted: 2 Sep 2005 16:54 GMT Total Posts: 80 | I'm a Yankee fan, and as you can well guess, I don't like the Red Sox much. I've never seen a team that has as good of a situation as the Sox do cry as much about another team. I get tired of hearing about the Yankees' payroll and about the curse (I thought that was broke, but Sox fans haven't shut up about it). No team that has the second highest payroll in a 30 team league has any room to be whining about payroll. I'm a Nationals fan, and that team is still getting cheated by MLB. And I know plenty of Royals fans because I'm two hours away from KC. Fans of the Nationals, Royals, and teams like that should be insulted by the behavior of Red Sox fans.
And for what it's worth, I despise the Cornhuskers. I'd only root for that team if they're playing the Kansas Jayhawks. :-) And I'll be going to the games when the Cornhuskers and Longhorns have to visit Columbia, Missouri. I might just have to talk a little smack after the games. :-) |
