Is competitive eating a REAL sport???

No, it's not a real sport. A real sport includes some sort of strenuous physical activity or something and eating doesn't qualify.

anything that you can do sitting in a stationary chair can't be a real sport.

I was listening to the radio and a eating contest champion guy said:
the new generation of eating contestants are thin and
the competition is a mind over matter thing.
some even do marathons to work off the extra pounds

so i'm assuming that the answer to the first question is the same...

new question...
Are these guys crazy.... or are they justified
-to think it is a sport
-to shove 2xs the amount of hotdogs down in 2 seconds than me...
-to push their bodies to the past limits
