Our school was sponsoring a battle of the bands, but our band was the only band that signed up. This means it's basically a concert for us, that's the good news, the bad news is we only have 2 songs prepared for it because we thought that's the amount we were going to get. What are some songs we should try, we need to come up with a setlist for tomorrow when we have practice again.

We havent figured out what our genre is because we havent made enough original music yet, so we're just a cover band. We have like two original songs that we don't have recorded, but we've covered everything from classical to punk to heavy metal. Our setlist for now looks like this

1) Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth
2) Iron Man - Black Sabbath
3) Woman - Wolfmother
4) Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones

That right there is about 15 minutes worth of music. We need a couple more songs.

No. Play classic rock, and nothing but. Ska is lame.

You should play "Who was in My Room Last Night?" by the Butthole Surfers!

I find it funny that 3 out of those 4 songs are from Guitar Hero...

No... out of those four listed earlier, Blitzkrieg Bop wasn't...

Play the Butthole Surfers song I posted about earlier!

BTW, where is going down at? IIRC, you're somewhere in NC...

Edit
Mmm, guitar hero...

No suggestions here... though, I'd add in something absolutely silly just to have some fun. A suggestion: "Joker", or as my friends call it, Space Cowboy. Why? I dunno, I really don't like the song itself. But I'm sure you could get more than a few laughs.

Well, one other band signed up today right before the deadline T_T so it's not going to be a solo concert for us, however we still get like 5 songs, and we were planning on recording it.

Well at least now you have some competition, go kick some but and good luck. If you need some inspiration I would suggest watching School of Rock. :)

Well, it's all over, we've played and stuff, but im really dissapointed. We got a call yesterday from our drummer who said he couldn't make it to the show (extreme circumstances out of anybodies control). We threw together a set of everything we could do and just played it today. It was the best we could hope for, but not nearly as good as I had wanted it to be.

and its always the drummer.. the hardest one to replace becuase everyone wants to be a drummer and they usually suck. But a recovery from a deflunk in the drummer section is always a good acustic show.
