I just a new TI 83+ today and I really want to know how to download games onto it from the internet. I have TI Connect and the USB cable and all that, but I Just want to know where I go on calcgames.com to make it work. Exact instructions would be nice. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Download the game(s) you want, remember where you saved them to. Then, go there via My Computer or whatever you use, and double click on the file. It should bring up a screen that will allow you to extract the files from there. (This is winzip.) If this doesn't happen, go to winzip.com and download a trial version. Once you have extracted the items out of the file, find the readme and read that. Then send the programs that are specified in there to your calculator. Sending the programs to your calc depends on what program you use.

Advice: Read the FAQ at the beginning of the forum in the box if you don't know where to start at all.

Personally, I have no problem with answering with answering questions about a part of the process.

But it's ridiculous to say "I got a new calculator for school today! Now everybody serve me and tell me exactly how to send games."

Anybody up to create a graphical FAQ (using print screen for important shots?)

Enginemaster426, you don't ABSOLUTELY have to have winzip, for example, winRAR works just as well, but you need a program similar to winzip.

Also, when enginemaster426 stated "maybe im not a computer nerd like some of you guys" I would point out that "real" nerds don't bother to read FAQ's/manuals/etc. They figure out by experimentation.

timmy34, a couple things could have happened:
Assembly program crashed, this can mess up your calculator. On the ti-89, you can press (and hold) 2nd and on and right and left.

Most likely, what you'll have to do is pull out one of the AAA batteries for a little while. Put it back in and hold on when you're turning it on (if you have an 83+) and hold on and 2nd, clear, or delete.

If neither of these works most likely your batteries are dead.

Man you have a major attitude problem. Just because I'm a techie and not a gear head does not mean I don't have a life. I'm quite a sociable person but just because I have a lot of free time doesn't mean jack! Big woop, it may be a calculator, but all it is is just a small shrunk down computer. I have done nothing wrong by investing my time in things that interest me. I program, I take photographs (self-employed photographer), I know more than the average person about the hardware of desktops and calculators and I take pleasure in helping people out. The reason why I say "I can start one tomorrow" is because I'm in college and I have free days to do nothing. In fact I graduated high school a year early. I never spent time hudling behind books reading, but since I was so bored with how slow school went I started to learn about some piece of technoledgy instead of doing nothing. As a result, I happen to have a very good deal of knowledge when it comes to the 68k calculators. I have only been in the "calculator scene" for just a little more than a year. There are other people who have been in it for 10+ years. If you want proof, go asking around at ticalc.org. There is nothing I have done to agrivate you into trying to demean me. I could just stoop down to your level and start insulting you right off the bat but hey, I'm not that kind of guy who takes pot shots at people I don't even know and have never met before. Grow up man! Have you ever tried to be mature? I'm sorry if this is a topic that you have never even heard of but I see no reason why I should personally insult you. I left most of my friends behind at high school, even ones I deeply cared about. Right now I am at a CC so if I make any friends there, chances are that I will only see them at the CC. Just because I don't keep my head stuck inside car magazines, get under the hood every chance I get to tweak my ride does not make mean that I'm not a guy. I see cars and technoledgy as tools, both can also be used for fun. Just because I don't follow the typical stereotype of a "guy", it does not give you any right to insult me or my personal life. GIve up onthe insults and stop flooding our forums with trash.

You see, at home we have this 1968 Dodge Charger with 383 four-barrel engine, and it recently got overhauled. We were expecting to get the engine back by Yesterday but the guy called and said itd be another month. I just got caught up in the moment with my anger. Just that lately a buinch of things have gone wrong with the car. The Holley carburator needed to be cleaned out and retuned along with the cylinder head bore. We decided to go .30 over so the pistons would get more pivoting space. OUr headers were leakin exhaust so we bought some BlackJacks and replaced them. Worst of all the shock towers are beginning to corrode so were investing a lot of money to get them clean again. It was a huge disaster I'm telling you I was takin off the catylitic converter and it fell and broke my thumb, while I hit my head on the gas tank. I know I was taking it out on you and what you like to do and thats wrong. We all have different pleasures. I can't wait for the day the tachometer comes back and the Hurst gearbox gets rechromed. Someday I'd like a 426 Hemi with stackers. I hope you accept my apology. CARS RULE!

Okay. I see what was going one. Just try not to do that to anyone in real life unless you want to come close to loosing your life. Apology accepted. I'm glad we are on better terms now.

I think you just had me write my longest post yet. [joke]I don't approve of your methods, but it worked.[/joke]

Timmy34: I wasn't peeved with you, but everything is cool now.

I'd be careful if I were you tim. Dig is an admin. He could ban you from the forum if he felt like it. (And I'm sure he doesn't.) But people can be pushed...

timmy34 I was saying that I had no problem with what you were saying (peeved means angry/upset). If you continue to insult me after I said that I was not offended with you, then that is more of a reason to ban you than it was for me to ban greg. Also you have to get to know me to understand things I write. Just for the sake of you and greg I put the [joke] tags, everyone else would have known what I was talking about. My humor is at least 95% non-malicous.

Enginemaster mentioned earlier can even AOL download games.

Everyone should be able to download games unless your internet is on a very strict filter that won't allow downloading (or visiting calcualtor sites *boggle*).

To get games you need a link cable, and to install ti-connect on the computer, supposedly there's a patch you have to download for XP (from what i heard, i don't use ti-connect). Plug in your calc, unzip the games (if you could download them.) they should end in *.8xp if you have a ti83+ or silver edition. Then plug in your calculator, run tic-onnect, open device explorer, and drag the files to your calculator.
