do you only have a usb cable? I searched all over but i can't find any that can do that with .8xp files, only .83 and .83p files. I would say just fork over 20 bucks for the graph link cable, or just edit them on your calc, then again, you could use an emulator.

EDIT: this is assuming you are talking about Ti-83/84 programs.

But when I try to run the graph link software, it says. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications.

some .8xp's cannot be editted: assembly programs and locked BASIC programs. If it's editable, graph link will be able to open it.

That's correct, VTI does not have USB support.

Just use the Ti-83 plus graphlink software available free from their website, send the files using ti-connect and edit using graph link

Korkow, how did you get it working? I know that recent versions of Windows have issues with the Grraph Link software and I'd like to have a workaround on record for the next time this comes up.

Actually I didn't do anything special. I have two computers that are almost exactly the same (both homemade). It would not work on one computer, so I finally tried it on the other and it worked! I don't know what the difference was, they have the same OS and everything but who knows? The weird thing was, even if I copied the file from the comp it worked on the other one it still said the file was not suitable for running on an MS-DOS system, weird huh? I'll try to make it work on that computer and then ill tell you how I did it...if I do.

Ray: I've been running windows xp, and the problem is that the black link cable is not enabled. To fix this, you have to go the TI start menu file tree (Connect or Graphlink, I'm not sure), and run "Start Black link service" that will turn on the black link for that windows session.

Right, but I've heard from people who just want to use the Graph Link software as a program editor, not for sending files, and WinXP refuses to run it at all.

Hmm, I've always been able to run all versions of graphlink fine. Dunno what their problem is.

graphlink ran on SP1. Haven't tried it recently so I'm not sure if it works on SP2.

It's not consistent, either. Lots of people have no problem.
